Re: Stillers-Doncos Postgame Analysis and Grades
Special teams built unnecessary holes to dig out of. Start calling him stinkie Wheaton, as in he stunk up the joint. Hopefully don't call him anything because he needs to be cut. When you add the stupid punt that netted 13, and you see a kicker kicking it in the middle of the field, instead of using the corners, one has to come to the realization that ST psuedo coach may not even be that.
Freakin T still doesnot realize that he can save more time taking timeouts when his D on field. On O, with the ball, you can stop clock with a pass. On D other guys O can use entire 45 seconds. It was INCREDIBLY STUPID to not take timeouts with goal to go for Denver.
Was it, as Phil Simms noted, a little too lackadaisical, to run 3 straight rushes on one of those times that Stinkie Wheaton had O backed in its own EZ?
Luv Heyward, but critical is Steelers need a disruptor on Dline...........
Big Ups to all the work you put in on this site! Next year.

Mill, Thank you for taking the time to call this asshole what he is really is: a genuine, fresh pile of shit. The reason it is fresh is because week after week, game after game, this clown can articulate whatever mumbo jumbo he can think of and feed it to the media, keeping himself fresh. Unfortunately, the Pittsburgh media drools over this fucker and gives him a pass. The squeeker win in Cincy will mean we are stuck with this fucker by padding his playoff stats. Just like you said in the review, They would have been KILLED in NE. Unfortunately, those cheating rat c@ckS*kers are the measuring stick to win the AFC with Pussy at QB and Belifuck coaching. Until they are gone, Momlin will always be their little bitch.
There is no fucking reason we do not have a viable backup return man for punts or kicks. The fact he didn't even THINK about having Boykin back there is another oversight or 7th grade girl fight that dick skin wouldn't address. Boykin was decent return man in Philly.....WITH EXPERIENCE ON HIS OWN FUCKING ROSTER!!!! I would bet he never got any reps, it would show another glaring weakness in his lack of ability to see player growth and development. He would rather piss away an opportunity than admit he was wrong in all facets of handling Boykin's ability. Please keep in mind, I don't believe Boykin is the second coming of Rod Woodson, however he would have helped stop the bleeding in a horrific secondary given more PT.....I wish Boykin well, because if he is smart, he can find a good contract $ on a team that would use him.
Given the keystone cop operation of a coaching staff, I am very surprised they made it this far. The special teams coach needs to get on with his life's work, unless Momlin hasn't already signed him to a new 10 year extension.
Bright Spots:
Sammy Coates was a nice surprise. Hopefully it will be fun to watch him develop and grow as a player as long as they don't fuck up and not play him.
Boswell looks legit and deserves a contract- Shuisham can try out for our secondary, at least he tries to tackle!
D. Williams is a great fit. Hopefully he sticks around after next year. Great Back up.
Thanks for the laughs and the analysis for the season. It is always nice to know where I can find the best read on our black and gold.

Ah the most relevant thing about this loss was that is spares you from watching the absolute ass whipping that would have occurred had they won and traveled to New England. Brady would have put at least five touchdowns onto this secondary if a guy signed by the Shitbirds ten days before he played the Steelers in a must win game could do it.
This game was a fuck up like usual. Fumble, dropped interception, the usual special teams clusterfuck except for Boswell of course. That boy is a stud who came to play in the playoffs. Perfect on field goals, kickoffs out of the endzone all day.
On to the draft... corners, safeties, a real run stopping nose tackle and you might have to go outside linebacker if Harrison hangs it up. Jones aint it. Also... they are going to have to draft a real QB to groom for when Roethlisburger is gone or when he spends a large chunk of the season in the hospital. It is time now to make that draft pick.
Thanks to Stillers.com for all the great stuff all year. Mill and Palmer Sucks--you guys keep me coming back.

Re: Stillers-Doncos Postgame Analysis and Grades
First things first. What the hell happened to the website the last few days? Was I the only one unable to do anything on the site? I doubt it due to the dearth of talk on here this week. Not bitchin' anybody out if it was a glitch it was just disappointing to not be able to jaw before that damn game. If I am the only one that was unable to get on here then it is on me and my apologies.
Thanks Mill for always providing accurate analysis that I usually find little to disagree with. Not to mention the good monday morning laughs. Palmer Sucks always has the great lead-ins. And of course a nod to the philosopher PGHeaven; needs no comment!
My 2 cents: Fed up with watching every damn game on the edge for 60 damn minutes! Can't they blow the hell out of some team some day? I think Touissant has a future as well as Coates. I have mentioned in previous posts that it would be nice if the 3rd, 4th string RB's and WR's get some time on the field. Damnit find out what they can do before an emergency and perhaps keep your best guys healthy instead of wearing them the hell out. What the hell good are stats if ya' ain't winnin? I bitched every week about Tomlin constantly starting the same fools in the secondary to let them "rebound" as he calls it. Bryant is inconsistent, has speed, but reminds me of another #10. Flashes of brilliance and then skillet hands - a term that my son and I laugh at every time we hear it. Keep Coates, Wheaton goes. Agree that they need a punter, return specialist not named AB, somebody, anybody that can pressure the QB, a beefy badass LB - Shazier is quick, but looks smallish, the other LB's average at best. Agree that Tomlin is a lifer and though there is a lot to be said for consistency it is still championships that put butts in the stands.
And LenSherwood you beat me to it. Agree it is time to draft the QB of the future. Ben has carried this team time and again, but ain't gittin any younger and it would make sense to groom the heir while they have the young guns on offense. Not much of an analyst, but that is my take from this past season that shoulda, coulda been a SB 50 shot. Hope to find some things to look at here for the next few months once in awhile. Have a good off season all. BTW isfry if you read this what is your prediction for next year?

Re: Stillers-Doncos Postgame Analysis and Grades
Great analysis by Mill, as usual. However would like to add a few comments/concerns. One, I am sick & tired of Ben saying "I'm a gunslinger". Hey, so are Brady Rodgers etc but if they NEED 4 yds to keep a drive going, they rely on their short yardage guys. They also don't get sacked on 4th down - Ben should have jump-balled it instead of taking sack. He still ignores down-and-distance rules in his 12 yr - unacceptable No one called him out on that gaffe. Two, I do believe that all people calling for drafting secondary (for years, now) are correct HOWEVER Heath should be a backup TE now. They need a stud TE - maybe JJames is the answer? All I know is that there are enough Eiferts and Gronks and Gates and Grahams and on and on in the league to understand their importance. Maybe Golston can turn into a serviceable Corner. Three, the people blaming Toussaint are unfair - he is a practice squad player for a reason. Plus, if you had choice for Stillers to have 1 turnover, most people would have easily agreed to that.
For next year, keepers if rea$onable: Gay, Boykin, Boswell, W.Allen. Cut their ass or let 'em walk: Spaeth, C Allen, Sushi, Gradk, Vick, Cam T, Legursky. Get rid of that flag-drawing numbskull Shamarko. Lev Bell & Martavis will be coming up soon -clear the $ path. Let Wheaton walk - Coates looks capable. Let Beachum walk - Villanueva made mistakes but look$ like a keeper.
One last note: the Manning flop rule is a joke. I hope they look @ that rule in the offseason - even Ilkin - who is not always a Stiller ally - said that should have been whistled dead.

Between the twenties, Ben is as good as you could ask for. From the twenty in he stinks like dog shit. We can never put a team away. I blame Ben the most.
Re: Stillers-Doncos Postgame Analysis and Grades
Well another year and the same problems. No tds in to red zone, no pass rusher or pass rush, bad special teammers, and every game on the edge of your seat even if the play high school teams. Will this ever change? With a few moves here and there we could be better than ne. Their talent is really no better than ours except for coaching. One thing I wish they would do next year, but you know it won't happen is get some kind of experienced edge rusher who can get a sack when you need it. The cards got freeney I'm sure he gets some sacks late in a game for them. That jones is complete waste, he ll probally make a play again in 2017. And they ll sign him for, ever!

I had a mysterious calm as I watched this thing unfold like the scene in Apocalypse now where Brando awaits his certain death at the mercenary hands of his disciple convert - it was as if time dilated and I could see the hand of doom put his hand around Stiller Nations collective neck and squeeze the last air out of our poor schnook lungs
Really - I knew it when Mommy chose to punt from the 40 yard line at 5280 feet above seal level and we netted 17 yards. hat was when the nature of the Steeler universe became clear to me. Sleep perchance to dream

and tomlin was heard to say "5280 feet - so that is why they call it the mile high city" as he was watching himself AGAIN and AGAIN on the jumbo tron. Meanwhile the game slipped away as usual.
Thank you thank you PG the oracle of wisdom and truth for the laugh this early AM!

Dear PGHeaven - you are truly a HOF poster, for sure. I cleaned up some of the Apocalype Now grammatical errors & sent it out for an immediate laugh by some fellow Stiller fans.
For those out there hoping (again, like every season since Woodson signed w/ the Ratbirds) for them to spend 1st pick on DB, forget it. W/ the 25th pick, every 1st rd worthy ( in the myopic eyes of Stiller DB scouts, anyway) DB will be gone & the classic line of "best available" or "a depth guy" will be used to explain why our 4th or 5th biggest need will be addressed @ #25.
I can easily see a quality, "can maybe start by 2018", O-lineman drafted there - again. If they reach -AGAIN - for an undersized edge rushing LB, I will surely start dry-heaving bile. Of course, the poor bastard LB will be subjected to the usual "has to learn the algorithmic concave Pythagorean defensive system" first & could possibly start to contribute just before their rookie contract is concluded.

Nice wrap, and thanks to all the staff and all the posters for an informative and entertaining year of news and insights. I, too, was unable to get on the board for the week leading up to the Donkeys game, but perhaps that allowed me to focus my energies elsewhere, rather than stew in my anxiety.
All told, I did not expect to win the Broncos game without AB (or DW or LB, for that matter.) As I said elsewhere, watching Pac Man sobbing on the sidelines was my super bowl. At least we continued their 25 year streak of postseason futility.
I am the furthest thing from a Tomlin apologist but I will say this. We were likely a fourth string running back's fumble away from beating the #1 seed in their house without our number one wideout and with a QB with a banged up throwing shoulder. Jus sayin...
I won't hope the unrealistic, that we do some real scouting and/or smart drafting in the offseason. Instead I will simply hope that the injury bug doesn't hit us quite so hard next year. Butler's defense should be better, some of the backup WR's got some play time, and our O-line will continue to be solid. Enjoy the long offseason, boys, and know that it's nowhere as near as long as it is for some fans (looking at you, Cincy.)

-If 2-Saint doesn't fumble, The Steelers win. Period. Spare me all the rah-rah "we win as a team, we lose as a team" cliché bullshit. He was on The Denver 30 yard line and the game was down to under 10 minutes to play with a running clock and The Donkeys only having 2 time-outs when he coughed it up. You figure at worst if The Steelers kick a FG it's 15-12 with not a lot of time left on the clock, and Grandpap Manning having to go 80 yards to score a TD. I wouldn't have been so upset with this if A.) Fitzy wasn't holding the ball like a fucking loaf of bread, and B.) It was actually a good hit that jarred the ball lose. Neither happened, so 2-Sour was the goat of the game.
-However, earing a silver medal in that dept. would be P Jordan Berry. Really, dude? You couldn't punt in the fucking thin air of Colorado?? But this is what this team gets when they clearly don't place any value on the position whatsoever. Quick; Name the last Steelers Punter you felt was even above average?? I rest my case.
-On the positive side Sammy Coates really surprised me in this game, looking like a damn track star after he caught the ball. Hopefully he'll end up supplanting Wheaton in the near future.

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer is fond of using the terms 'above the line/below the line.' In fact, he wrote a book about it (entitled, amazingly, 'Above The Line') and has been promoting it.
It's one of those typical in-football-as-in-life tomes that is 300 pages conveying a single thought.
Guess who has appropriate this mundane sounding, pregnant with meaning 'above the line' phrase? None other than the Connoisseur Of Cliches himself, Monsieur Michael Tomlin.
