Over the past several years, it seems Dick coaches out of fear. Like an old man merging onto the freeway at 35 mph, he views aggressiveness as needlessly risky. The Green Bay super bowl is a perfect example. His results should get him canned but to Tomlin, he's untouchable. Like Joe Paterno was his last decade at Penn St, living off the glory of years gone by while being revered by gold-colored glasses wearing fans and media alike.
I watched the great monday night game, recovering from the pain of sunday by watching Brady and Belicheat get embarrassed. KCs plan was to play tight man coverage and pressure the shit out of Brady. Juxtapose that with Dicks approach, soft zone, 3 to 4 man rush. The results speak for themselves.

LeBeau has plenty of help: Williams and Butler. Theses clowns 'teach' if you can call it that, to engage the blocker. This is an OCs dream and removes the 'engager' from the play. Classic football strategy is to win the LoS. But that is not possible with a 3 Dlinemen-5 Olinemen (at least) disadvantage that the 3-4 offers on the LoS.
Finally, OCs have taught the Oline to stay in their respective lanes and suddenly the 'noone knows where the blitzer is coming from' strategy is useless.
Tomlin seems intimidated, not by LeBeau, but the media overhyping the famous 'Rooney patience'. Tomlin should give LeBeau a 'family emergency' excuse and in this 'emergency' install Carnell Lake interim DC.
