Hard Hat Award (Game #6, @ Cinci)
Stiller RB Jonathan Dwyer is the winner of the weekly Hard Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough, hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still mill.
Dwyer had a tremendous effort in the win over Cinci. Inactivated the previous 2 games, Dwyer was forced to not only dress, but start, due to injuries in Tennessee to Redman and Mendy. Good plunge, 3rd and 1, early 2Q. Good runs, 11, 4, 4, and 21 in the 2Q. Clutch run on 3rd & 4 at 10:35 4Q, gaining 15 yards. Dwy rumbled thru Peko’s tackle at the LOS for a critical 14-yard gain and a 1st down at 2:40 4Q. He then iced the game by breaking a tackle and rumbling 32 yards on a late 3d & 7 to finish off the game. That, my friends, was Hard Hat football. Dwy finished with 122 yards on only 17 carries with obviously his best game of his short NFL career.
Also in consideration was TE Heath Miller, who had a strong effort, both catching the ball, run blocking, and pass blocking. The O-line was fairly rugged and tough-nosed.
Kudos to Dwyer for winning the Hard Hat Award. Wear the Hard Hat proudly, Jonny !
