Hard Hat Award (Game #7, vs. Wash. )
Stiller RB Jonathan Dwyer and TE Heath Miller are the co-winners of the weekly Hard Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough, hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still mill.
Dwyer had another strong effort in the win over the Skins. Inactivated for 2 games a few weeks ago, Dwyer was again forced to not only dress, but start, due to injuries in Tennessee to Redman and Mendy. All Dwyer did was rumble for 107 yards on 17 rushes, good for a healthy 6.3 yards per crack. He topped 100 yards in back to back weeks, becoming the first Stiller RB to do so since Fast Willie Parker in 2008. Several times, he busted tackle attempts by ForeSkin defenders and dashed for extra yardage after contact, which is what Hard Hat football is all about.
Miller had another stellar game, providing good blocking in the ground effort as well as grabbing 4 passes. His TD catch was a Hard Hat effort, as he stretched out and up to snare a high bullet while keeping his 2 feet in bounds in the back of the end zone. He also chipped in on pass pro and gave a rugged, Hard Hat effort all game long.
Also in consideration was the O-line with a good overall effort, along with FB Will Johnson.
Kudos to Dwyer and Miller for winning the Hard Hat Award. Wear the Hard Hat proudly, fellas !
