Is Rod Woodson Hall Of Fame worthy?
No Doubt.
Can you believe its been 5 years since he hung up his cleats?

Smith, Woodson, Sharpe highlight Hall candidatesUpdated: October 28, 2008, 6:01 PM EST 5 comments add this RSS blog email Print CANTON, Ohio (AP) - Defensive end Bruce Smith, defensive back Rod Woodson and tight end Shannon Sharpe are among first-year candidates for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The list includes 110 players, seven coaches and 16 contributors, including former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue and longtime team owners Bud Adams, Jerry Jones, Art Modell and Ralph Wilson.

Hall of Fame selectors will choose 25 candidates who will be announced later this month as semifinalists. The field will then be narrowed to 15 by a mail ballot. The inductees will be selected from among those 15 and the two senior nominees previously announced, Bob Hayes and Claude Humphrey. They were selected in August by a senior selection committee.

The class of inductees will be chosen at the selection committee's annual meeting on Saturday, January 31, 2009, in Tampa, Fla., the day before the 2009 Super Bowl. As few as four and as many as seven can be selected.

To be considered for Hall of Fame election, a nominated player or coach must be retired for at least five years. A contributor, who has made outstanding career contributions to pro football in capacities other than playing or coaching, may still be active in his pro football career.

In the words of Key Johnson the worst analyst in pre-game history "C'mon guys!" How is this even a question? Wood banged the hottest chick at my high school his rookie year I put him in the hall of fame just for that...man was she hot...McLovin digresses. Wood is a legendary non-tipper throughout restuarants in the PGH area but you can't ignore his 11 pro bowls and 6 all pro seasons. Noll's "gift" has 71 career ints and was defensive player of the year in 1993. How lucky was Noll in 1987 picking at #10 he watched Vinny Testicleinversion go #1 followed by Cornelious Bennett and stiff after stiff in Brent Fullwood, Cleveland's prize MIKE JUNKIN (HAHAHAHA) Kelly Stouffer, Reggie Rogers, Shane Conlan. The only player remotely comparable to Wood in that top 10 is Jerome Brown. What a draft that was for Noll! McLovin thinks it's the Steelers second best only to the '74 draft of Swann, Stall, Web. Lambert. Noll wanted to rebuild the secondary and with Harvey Clayton and Lupe Sanchez McLovin would say it was way necessary. Delton Hall, Thomas Everett, Hardy Nickerson, Greg Lloyd, Tim Johnson tremendous draft.

Some people are honored by making it into the Hall.
Others honor the Hall with their presence.

I think Woodson is more the latter. Of course he deserves to be there.

What's the crowd going to look like on the day of Woodson's induction? Will it be full of Steelers fans, or Ravens fans?

If he doesn't make it first ballot, then neither does Marshal Faulk.

11 Pro Bowls, three Super Bowl appearances... came into the league unheralded (re: Neon Deon), and should finally get the respect he deserves.

BTW, he should also think about re-opening Woodson's in da Burg!

Actually a very interesting question.

Wonder who he'll have as his intro speaker at his HOF induction?
Ray Lewis? :P

I can tell you who won't be there all the bartenders, waiters, and waitresses he didn't tip over the years. Ok McLovin snap out of it positivity. Wood always mentions Ray Lew on Total access like he's his little knife wielding ghetto hero. Damn McLovin snap out of it...positivity its Rod.. a great hall of fame player. Rod also credits Noll and Dick on the show so maybe he would ask one of them. Noll seems to disdain public life so I'm thinking he wouldn't be the choice. Great we'll be watching the knife wielder stick his tongue out and dance around like a toolbag..."Any dogs in house?!?!? Woo Woo Woo Wooo!" By the way when is Dermonti Dawson getting in? Who's black balling him? Did he make fun of Clayton's hair? Did he steal a sandwich from Douchette?

His 71 interceptions are even more amazing if you consider how many ints he DROPPED. Yes, he did make some great catches sometimes but it seemed like he dropped about half of the balls he got his hands on. At least when he was in PIT. I didn't watch him all that much after he went elsewhere, but I do remember the first time he ever played against Pit. Early in the game, he had a ball hit him in the chest and bounce to the ground, and he was in position to return it for a td. So imagine if he had consistently caught the catchable ints. He would have had over 100, I think.

And so, in summary, ROD IS GOD.
