I have a hard time not agreeing with Still!

Since the middle of last year I have wanted to see Woodley and Timmons on the field together.......I cannot watch our OFF, it's a joke......Arians simply is pathetic and he looks lost when the tv camera is on him.

PS - what does Troy Aikmen know when he states on Sunday that Arians is 1 of the top Off coordinators in Football???

Troy - please go back to analyzing the NFC (see you in Dec when we host Tony Homo and the rest of the Cowgirls on Fox)

Good article Mill...McLovin has been befuddled by the use or lack there of by both tight ends in the Steeler "offense." McLovin believes Heath Miller a pro bowler stuck in Jerame Tuman's offense. GET HIM THE DAMN BALL! Did Colbert really draft Miller and Spaeth to be extra tackles? Troy was being sacastic in his remarks about Arians...Troy said that Tomlin has been a fan of Arians since his days at Cleveland because of his efficiency on 3rd down. At that point the Steelers hadn't converted on 3rd down. Way to go 1-10 Bruce.

Good points, Mill.

Especially about the lack of production from the TE's. Part of that, no doubt, is due to the weakness of the OL. As Tomlin famously said earlier this year, " there are other ways to protect the quarterback." True. But when you have two skilled receivers at TE, you can easily slide them off a block to catch a quick pass...or use them in many ways to keep a defense guessing.

And you're right about Anthony Smith, as well. He is a big mouth, a hothead, and an asshole. We've all seen that. And he bites. Really. He does bite. On play action, pump fakes, an flea flickers. And maybe the well-deserved cooling off period has made him mature a bit. Because he is a hellacious hitter and a damn site better than Tyrone Shoelaces Carter, who is less than zero. I would think we will see more of Smith, and either he produces, or he goes. He's a million dollar hitter with a ten cent head. Let's hope he can keep his immaturity in check -- because if this team is going to go anywhere, Smith has to play well in the depleted secondary. :suxfingers:

If Carter is the answer, the question must be, "who is the ticket to defeat?"

And, as I've said before, I think we should wait till the end of the season before either firing Arians or hanging him in Market Square. Of course, I reserve the right to move up the date. Especially if my suspicions can be confirmed that Arians rides to work every day in the short bus, and wears his own helmet on the bus.

And as far as Troy Aikman is concerned, go easy on the old boy. With 1,267 concussions to his credit, his brain is more scambled than a pina colada down at the Java Juice. :sucrutches: Just because he has a mic and a headset doesn't mean he knows anything.

Tomlin is extremely pissed at Smith.

You could tell this from his reaction at the press conference, when he was asked what Smith's role would be.

We can moan about it all we want, but Smith ain't seeing the field- that is a given.

Good article. Quote from Arians, "the tight end is eligible? I'll have to check with the league office on that. I was wondering why Ben threw a few passes to our 3rd tackle Miller".

As always, some insightful Slag from The Mill. Especially regarding Timmons -- ridiculous that this guy isn't a starter. The Stillers will especially need him (and Woodley) Monday night to get after Campbell.

WTF, MILL??? Blast on Marvell for being hurt, yet nothing for Weak Willy Parker??? His pu$$y is hurting every fukking week. We are finally finding out why his coaching staff at UNC kept him on the bench so much.....he's fukking hurt 24/7.

I think Smith is in the doghouse for his hellacious preseason hits on teammates in practice, particularly Hines Ward...

Smith is talented but dumb as a rock, and I don't have an issue taping his ass to the bench -- please don't continue a season with Tyrone Carter as a backup to anyone -- he's unathletic and terrible. I still get flashbacks of that David Garrard run in my sleep.

Too bad Ryan Mundy didn't pan out from preseason. I was rooting for him.

That argument does not makes sense to me, in and of itself. The Stillers want hellacious hard hitters.

I think your point indicates that he is too aggressive, though, and tends to bite on fakes and be badly beaten, for example.

Sir, (Steel Mill)

I agree with your assessment of Bruce , can we lose, Ayres.

But not with Dick!
You have said how weak teams give it to Dick. Bahh, our D is doin fine. True Arians is a pudts. Labeau, I think, is doing a fine job. We don it know the plans for Timmons. Maybee we resign without experience. Dont know

I agree with ya Nel, I'd have a hard time believing he was actually punished for the hits in preseason. But I think that these hits show his lack overall lack of smarts for the game, such as biting on facts and being too overly aggressive.

If Zapunto is right then Tomlin is bigger idiot than McLovin thought. Tony just trying to make the team and get out of Tomlins stupid doghouse...And Hines of all people to be mad is just ridiculous...Hines is known throughout the NFL as a cheap shot artist...when McLovin pays his Mcpals a visit in Baltimore and Cleveland thats all the talk in those towns is what a cheap shot artist Hines is. Take some of your own medicine Hines. Don't be a freakin sissylala because you don't want to take a hit in practice. Actually McLovin doesn't care...Tony (is he Italian???) just another bad Colbert pick...guy can hit but has not shown coverage skills and talks trash without the game to back it up.
