Starks for RT in 2008.
Max Starks- 17.5 sacks in 4 seasons.
Willie Colon- 12.25 sacks in 1 season.
You do the math. Now, who do you want starting at RT??

Agree with most.
A little government and a little luck are necessary in life, but only a fool trusts either of them.

Dallas Baker couldn't catch a cold never mind a pass. I am amazed that he even made it to the NFL.

Re: My 53 Man Roster
I think either Foote of Farrior gets axed this year. Humpal will play ST's. I Also wouldn't be surprised to see Ty Carter get the boot. The imbecile, Anthony Smith can back up @ SS. This would open up another spot for someone they don't think would last on the practice squad.
The rest, I actually agree with. Did you finally lay the crack pipe down Smith?

Re: My 53 Man Roster
how does dallas baker beat out willie read as number five WR??? thats sheer insanity. willie reid has caught every pass thrown to him in game. in the slot he can usually get a first down.
dallas baker hasnt caught an nfl pass yet.

Re: My 53 Man Roster
Here is another way to look at the 53 man roster.....not to take away from your prediction; rather, who can actually play. To determine who "can play" I define that is someone who is proven -- week in and week out and can get it done.
PROVEN:
QB/
ben roethlisberger- franchise
RB/
willie parker- 3 down back
FB/
TE/
heath miller- great TE, greats hands, good blocker
WR/
hines ward- not much needs to be said other than great

LG/

DT/
casey hampton- great NT when not overweight
RDE/
LOLB/
MLB/
james farrior- good and solid LB
ROLB/
james harrison- probowl OLB
CB/

deshea townsend- solid, but on the downside of his career
FS/
SS/
troy polamalu- perrenial probowler when healthy
K/
jeff reed- solid and reliable
P/
LS/
greg warren- great, hasnt had a mess up like romo and cincinnati
6 players "proven" on offense....notice the gigantic gap in the o-line?
7 players "proven" on defense.....notice the lack of depth at LB?
Here is my point. Regardless of this years draft, this team is overall very weak. Alot of players are "on the rise," or "a project." That's utter horseshit. 75% of the players on this team will end up playing "grab ass" for a few years and be done.
Can this team do it this year? Sure. Who knows what will happen and we do have some talent. However, there is an NOTICEABLE drop off in talent once you get past the proven players (IMHO) and we are not going to get to where we need to be with folks like Fox, Moore, Eason, Washington (yep, I'm calling this pecker head out. Either learn how to catch, or go work for Jiffy Lube), Mahan, Simmons (another one not earning his keep), etc...etc...
Nuff said.

Washington (yep, I'm calling this pecker head out. Either learn how to catch, or go work for Jiffy Lube)
You have a problem. Washington is the third receiver until Limas Sweed beats him out. Why is he the third receiver?
Production, sweetheart.
Production.......
Re: My 53 Man Roster
No problem.....
Washington must produce on a consistent level. Anyone watching the games on a regular basis cannot honestly say that this clown is consistent.
Everyone fall in love with his "speed" and "potential." Which is exactly my point --- we've assembled to some extent a bag of "potential" players.
BTW --- assuming Limas shows up and can fog a mirror, I suspect he'll have little trouble in taking over for Nate "it bounces off my body" Washington.

Can you name some important situations, last season, that Washington had one "bounce off his body?" I mean, REAL EXAMPLES from game situations.
Oh and I hope you use the end of the Patriots game, when the Steelers were down by 20+ and had absolutely no chance in hell of winning.
Good luck...you're gonna need it.
Re: My 53 Man Roster
I don't know if this will fall into you categorization KC, but didn't Nate have a ball bounce off his chest right before he inadvertently pitched it to a Jets DB.
One less turnover in that game, and the Steelers could have easily won.
Just sayin...

dallas baker hasnt caught an nfl pass yet.
he will this season. have you heard anything good about willie reid in the OTAs? no. have you heard anything good about dallas baker in the OTAs? yes, tons of good things. let me remind that these are without pads.
the reality is that reid was a wasted pick and won't contribute anymore for the team unless we keep 6 WRs (reid being the 6th).
Starks for RT in 2008.
Max Starks- 17.5 sacks in 4 seasons.
Willie Colon- 12.25 sacks in 1 season.

Oh yeah, that was a real easy catch to make right there.
Washington was fighting for that ball, with a DB right on top of him and it went up in the air and got intercepted. Christ, Hines Ward actually KICKED a ball up in the air to a Raven player, in case you forgot.
No, I'm talking about some easy catch that Washington had bounce off his chest, not a play with a DB on top of him.

Re: My 53 Man Roster
Washington did fine last year. I think he had less drops than Hines in 07.
Re: My 53 Man Roster
The most glaring examples occurred in the fourth quarter Sept. 24 ('06) against Cincinnati. Nate Washington dropped two -- one on third-and-6, the other in the end zone.

Looks like a real drop and all, with the Cincy defender's arms wrapped all over Nate's.
Good call.

KC,
If you met Nate Washington and he asked you politely to get on your knees and suck his dick, would you do it? Just curious. Thanks in advance.
