Would you be willing to write this season off?...
It has been said that an OC change now would guarantee an 'unsuccessful' season due to the many factors involved (new mind-set, personality adjustments, technical stuff, etc.) And now this Scott Lindhan from th Ram/Vikings is available and his offenses never finished lower than fourth. Are you willing to chuck this season and gamble with a new OC that just may prove to be what this team needs? We gotta do something. If things continue on this way, I fear to speculate what may happen to Ben ('Da FRANCHISE) as this season progresses....
Re: Would you be willing to write this season off?...
I endorse the signing of Linehan...IN THE OFFSEASON. It would be unprecidented to install completely new offense with all new plays, terminology, and philosophy (what is Arians' philosophy?). Coaches obviously get fired within the season, but usually an interim coach named to keep running same system that got guy fired in the first place. At least there is now a name out there to keep an eye on to replace Arians with. Next to get booted out the door...coach porn
Re: Would you be willing to write this season off?...
Hell yes I'd write the season off at this point. What with the injuries and all. Bring the new guy in. Start getting used to him now. Strategically it'd be a great move. Lose, lose, and lose some more. Get a fantastic draft position.
Re: Would you be willing to write this season off?...
You dudes are on crack...team is in first freakin place...sure isn't pretty but anybody can win the AFC this season. Every team has key injuries...Pats lost Brady, Colts lost Saturday and Sanders, Chargers lost Merriman, Jags lost most of their freaking OL and they're not quitting. Improve draft position? Its barely October holy negative thinking!

I'm not sure we need to install a "completely new offense with all new plays, terminology, and philosophy", we just need somebody that can run this one with some creativity and imagination. Arians might actually have a good set of plays, but he doesn't have the slightest clue on how to make situational decisions. Where's all the quick-hitting pass plays to TEs and HBs we heard so much about in the pre-season? They've gotta be buried in the playbook somewhere...
If we can talk Linehan into running what we already have in place more effectively, then let's go get him right after the Jags game and have the bye week to bring everybody up to speed.
Any "completely new offense with all new plays, terminology, and philosophy" can wait until the off-season. We need someone with an imagination NOW, and Arians has proven it ain't him.
Wha make you tink I won cutchu, mang?!?

Yeah, they all have injuries. But they also have better offensive coordinators, defensive coordinators, ol and dl coaches, head coaches, and owners. The time to start fixing things is now.
Re: Would you be willing to write this season off?...
I agree Arians sucks but you guys are panicking big time. Linehan is going to sit at home and collect a big fat pay check then he'll be one of highest paid OCs next year. He's not coming to bail out Tomlin and the Steelers. Why would Tomlin can an assistant after his qb made the pro bowl and set team record with 32 tds and had rb leading league in rushing through 15 games? What message does that send to future potential coordinators he may hire? He's going to ride Arians out the rest of the year or else he sends the message he's panicked and is looking for a scape goat. Oh and for the record my blame goes to Colbert. Not only does the OL suck, how dumb is it to have your only 3 OTs potential free agents?

This is a prime example of why YOU SIR do not fit to work in the NFL and further proof as to why you are one of the biggest homers on this site!!!
The Steelers are 3-1 in first place in the AFC North. And you want to say fuck it?
Sure they are taking their lumps but so is every other team. Can Scott Linehan play offensive tackle?
This is a fuckin' idiotic thread.

The name "Coke Oven" must be referring to his drug of choice.

Naw, never used drugs and never will, unlike yourself. Furthermore, unlike yourself, I worked my way through college on the coke ovens of one of Pittsburgh's steel mills. You do know that coke ovens are where they turn coal into coke which is then used to fire the blast furnaces that make the steel. You do know about that kind of coke, don't you. Sounds like you're only personally familiar with the other kind.

Linehan?!? The guy who turned the 'Greatest Show on Turf' into an outright disaster?
No thanks. Arians *has* to go... but I'd rather see guys with more on their resume than this guy.

So you were dumb enough to work in a coke battery with all of those wonderful chemicals and gases rotting your brain? Most likely Clairton where all of the highest class people hang out unless it was the LTV battery in Glenwood which is another shithole. No wonder you have come up with an idiotic idea to scrap the season when the team is 3-1 and leading their division.

They're 3-1 currently atop the AFC North. No other team in the AFC has impressed. Yeah, great fucking thread, dumbass.
