2008 Ben = 2002 David Carr?

Ben Roethlisberger is being sacked like he's David Carr in 2002
By MJD
It's not a big secret that the Steelers offensive line had a few problems protecting Ben Roethlisberger (much like the Titanic had a few problems with taking on water) this past Sunday, but if you want to put in perspective just how bad the problems in Pittsburgh could be, Pat Kirwan of NFL.com has a stat for you.
If you remember when David Carr was sacked 76 times on the expansion Houston Texans in 2002, then you'll recognize the situation: Pittsburgh has given up 14 sacks in three games, an average of 4.7 per game, which puts them on a pace to allow 75 sacks.
Holy Hamburger Helper gloves (I believe I stole that line from Skeets). Obviously, the Eagles helped to highlight some problems the Steelers have in pass protection, but they're in 2002 David Carr territory? I'm frightened for Large Benjamin. By Week 12, that kind of punishment will make Roethlisberger's motorcycle accident feel like he just ordered the #9 at Sweaty Cinnamon's Sensual Massage Parlor.
But wait, it gets worse:
What makes the Steelers' situation worse than the '02 Texans' is the number of other hits taken by Roethlisberger -- after he throws the ball or is tackled after scrambling past the line of scrimmage to avoid the sack.
[...]
In 79 pass plays, he has been sacked 13 times (a 1:6 ratio). He has been hit 18 more times and has been credited for six rushing attempts (when he avoided the sack by fighting his way back to the line of scrimmage). When you combine these hits with the sacks, Roethlisberger has taken a shot once every 2.3 pass plays. If Roethlisberger attempts the same number of passes as he did last year, he will be involved in a hit, sack or tackle 196 times.
One-hundred and ninety-six hits by NFL defensive linemen. His brain will be grape jelly. He won't be capable of any more than sitting around all day, drooling on himself, and watching reruns of Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n Wrestling. But hey, at least that way, Terry Bradshaw will have someone to talk to.

I thought you guys didnt listen or hold the media in high regard? Oh I get it, only when it pertains to your argument. One thing one must note. These guys DONT watch every steeler game AND the Houston Texans back then didnt have a Pro Bowl 1000 yard rusher. Kind of an oxy moron to have a 1000 yard rusher and say you have a horrible line. A Little perspective.

What the hell are you talking about?
I didn't even comment on this article.
I just put it out here for other people to discuss.

Who said you commented on it? I dont need you to comment on it for me to make a comment. I'm putting it all in perspective, that is all. There is NO SUCH THING as horrible line that has a 1400 yard rusher and a 1300 yard rusher, thats inaccurate and I'm pointing it out.

THAT'S NOT SAYING I COMMENTED ON IT?
What guys are you talking about?
(the voices in your head perhaps?)
I'm the only guy who has posted in this thread?
Who's the "your" in "your argument"?
For a Lawyer, you sure aren't very careful with your words.

Whenever you're challenged, your true colors come forth.
Nobody who really has "knowledge" or "understanding" has to go around touting it, for the comments themselves do the talking. You have to state it because it's obvious that you're incapable of such discussion. The problem is when you tout something you don't have, you end up coming off as an even bigger moron.
Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.
Re: 2008 Ben = 2002 David Carr?
You cant even put together a concise argument. Uh sir I think I AM the one who has been challenging you big mouths and not one has accepted. Why dont you be the 1st to step up and get embarrassed.

I have ALOT to say as you can tell. You should see me in my closing arguments. I must say I do believe I have added some electricity to the site. I imagine it was pretty dead before I came on the scene. But then again, I should know how the atmosphere was since according to some, I'm some Switzer guy. A wise man once told me, "If you find em dumb, LEAVE EM DUMB"

Further proof you are no lawyer, or at least not a good one.
Your use of the language sucks.
NOW - BACK TO THE ORIGINAL PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD.
ANY COMMENTS ON THIS COMPARISON BETWEEN CARR AND BEN, and the projected number of hits Ben could take this year.

I agree;
However,
So does Ben's, Maybe worse - at least when it comes to protecting him.
Re: 2008 Ben = 2002 David Carr?
Steelers dont suck, sorry. How does a line suck and have a 1300 and 1400 hundred yard rusher?

Read my entire quote.
The part about "at least at protecting" Ben is very important. So please don't leave it out.
Tomlin has said that it is everybodys job (at least on offense) to protect Ben.
So the line must run block and pass protect.
If they only do one well, they are only doing half the job.
50% is an F. That sucks.
