First big test for Tomlin this year
Seeing that this is the first team on our schedule that belongs in the NFL I wonder how long it takesfor Tomlin to go too conservative or gun shy? He has a bad tendency to ball up in tough games. Hell he gets nervous in easier games like the T/O right as Cleve jumped. But I know just like the Jax game it will be Arians fault for calling the plays but when Cowher was here it was Cowhers fault because he was the HC...

Cowher was here 15 years.
Last year was Tomlin's first as HC ANYWHERE, which is all you have to go on.
Of course Arians would get more leeway and trust from a rookie HC. Turns out to be more rope to hang himself with.
And, of course it was his fault, douchebag...
...only now, it's up to Tomlin to step in and whip some asses into line - coaches and players alike.
He ain't a rookie no more, and it's time we see what he's got...
Wha make you tink I won cutchu, mang?!?

I think we just did. He seems to be a highly cerebral guy who just doesn't have it as a battlefield general.

Re: First big test for Tomlin this year
How you guys can blame Tomlin/Arians for the Jags loss last season is BEYOND ME. Didnt Ben throw 3 picks and have a fumble in scoring range? People are SO BLIND, I swear. But dont worry I am here to set the Steeler Nation straight

Yes- this is more and more looking like what we've got as a HC...he may football "book smart", but in battle he is dumber than a box of rocks.
Re: First big test for Tomlin this year
Blame the coach lmao you guys are SO PREDICTABLE. Did Tomlin throw the ball into double coverage and get an int? Did Tomlin intentionally ground and give up 2points and possession? Did Tomlin QUIT on the Steelers? Ben did all of the above. How much fight was in our leader? Ben played bad and you guys strategically blame Tomlin/Arians/OLine.

It's not an either/or situation.
Re: First big test for Tomlin this year
Tomlin's first big test will be how he responds to yesterday's ass kicking.

It is an either or situation. Did you see ANY fight in Ben? He quit on us, why are you guys so dishonest? Who cost us the game? Tomlin? TOO FUNNY

He didn't so much quit as he got his ass kicked and his bell rung. It was kinda a TKO. He was sacked a dozen times, except on four of them, he managed to get back to the line of scrimmage or gain a yard or two, so they don't officially count as sack.
Either the first or second Steeler game I attended was at Pitt Stadium, when John Baker nearly tore off the head of Y.A. Tittle. You've seen Morrie Berman's timeless photo of Tittle on one knee, helmet off, blood flowing from his head. By the time the game was over, that's gotta be how Benji was feeling.
He didn't quit. He was on Queer Street. He was unable to do the job, because of the beating he had taken.
Re: First big test for Tomlin this year
These excuses you guys make for Ben are AMAZING. What proof do you have that he was on queer street? Did they apply any smelling salts? Did they look at his pupils? What evidence do you have to substantiate that claim sir? I saw them checking his hand. Bens eyes as well as his demeanor said I DONT WANT TO PLAY ANYMORE. If you didnt see that your biased and untruthful.

Are you kidding?!?
He was shaking off aches and pains after almost every play. He was rubbing and rolling his neck early in the 2Q after that mauling facemask during the one sack. That was early, and it just went downhill from there. By mid Q3, he had already taken such a beating that he was completely unsure of himself - like he just bit a windshield at 40 mph all over again. (Aside: anybody remember Tom Brady's expression in the second half of the superbowl? NOBODY can take that kind of a beating and be expected to perform up to par.) With all that abuse, he still stood in there and gave it all he had.
You sit there on your cushy ass behind a keyboard and talk so though about how Ben let us down, and over and over you ignore the pounding he took all day. You try to make it sound like it was all Ben's fault, and completely absolve the failures of those who are paid to plan the game and to protect our franchise QB. Your obvious chip on your shoulder against Ben has exposed you as a fraud and demonstrates very little football knowledge. No matter how many times you spew it or on how many threads, you look like an idiot, Ben-hating buffoon.
It's as ridiculous as a chick with a way-too-fat ass wearing spandex...
Wha make you tink I won cutchu, mang?!?
Re: First big test for Tomlin this year
It was Bens fault and I recall Brady fighting and leading his team to a td DESPITE all the pressure (called hitting hot routes). Ben is NOT brady, not close. Funny how brady wasnt getting blitzed and hardly does. The giants got pressure with the front 4 not A BLITZ. Ben is a 5 year starter and STILL GETTING BLITZED! Dcoordinators do this to rookies and those slow to make quick decisions, not seasoned vets. What happened when we blitzed mcnabb? He checked off and threw to backs and hot routes when he didnt he paid the price. Blitz didnt bother byron now did it?? lol

...no, it's called game plan adjustments to include RB screens to Sam Morris and quick slants to Welker to loosen up the pressure. Last year, the Iggles backed off in their Patsy game and it cost them, while the Jints never let up.
Point is, no matter what Brady did in the SB, it was not enough, REMEMBER?!?!?
What's more, he looked like a first grader that pissed himself by the end of that one.
Get your fat lazy ass out from behind that keyboard and go get pummeled for a couple of hours by several 300 lb guys that get a five yard dead run at your ass. Maybe you'll appreciate Ben and Tom's plight
Scalaid6 wrote:Dcoordinators do this to rookies and those slow to make quick decisions, not seasoned vets.
Are you now uttering this generalized drivel and claiming to know the mind of NFL D Coordinators?!?!
Careful there, skippy. If you embarrass yourself, we'll be forced to expose it again.

After the first quarter, that was sure productive, now wudn't it.

Who made those adjustments? BRADY DID. Called hot routes. Why cant ben do the same? Giants got pressure with front 4 not a blitz, talk wht you know DUMDUM. Brady overcame the pressure and led his team to score when it counted. LUCKY plays got the giants the win (I'm honest). I dont appreciate Ben, I'm a steeler fan NOT a Ben fan. I was a Steeler fan BEFORE Ben and will be AFTER Ben. I appreciate execution not stagnation. I am not fat nor am I lazy nor am I a NFL QB so for you to tell me to play Qb in the league shows how much of a ignoramous you really are. However, I did play Division 1 Football and my email address is in my profile and I will send you a picture of me and lets see whos fat and out of shape and who isnt sir? I GUARANTEE YOU WONT PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR BIG MOUTH IS!
I know football as evidence by my posts. Dcoordinators dont blitz those who will hurt them. Did you see the eagles call off the blitz when Byron hurt them on succesive plays? No of course you didnt, too busy watching safe sex with richard simmons. Dont get mad at me because you cant defend your position. If you want to further embarrass yourself then fine by me because I have no problem exposing the unlearned.
Re: First big test for Tomlin this year
a> Truth be told, Ben has yet to be allowed to consistently do so in a game sitch, especially when a high-pressure bloodletting starts early and doesn't let up. It's then left up to Arians to make an adjustment and send in a decent play to start off with, and that has been nothing but a dismal failure.Scalaid6 wrote:Who made those adjustments? BRADY DID. Called hot routes. Why cant ben do the same?
b> Also truth be told, Ben's like anybody that will become unsure of himself and start second guessing after repeatedly getting his ass pummeled, just like
BRADY DID.
........
...period. The key was that they were able to do so AND cover Welker, something the Iggles hadn't yet figured out when they played them. And the plays to Welker, Morris, and even Ben Watson were often sent into the Iggles-Pats game FROM THE SIDELINES. It was not always a hot read by your idol Tommie boy, which is what you're expecting from Ben.Scalaid6 wrote:Giants got pressure
Once again, truth be told, Ben doesn't have the same abilities when under fire as some other QBs in the league, and when he takes a beating he loses confidence. Lest you forget, he still doesn't have near the experience of a Brady or Manning though, so let's be fair. What's more there's no way you can tell me that the motorcycle accident didn't have some permanent effect in the process of his development. I just hope his health and/or confidence don't meet with an early demise on the way there because everybody expects him to do all the work while they aren't doing theirs.
I'm not going to fault the guy for reacting the same as anybody would in the same situation, while willfully ignoring the culpability of all of those around him that did a much poorer job than he. That would just be biased, prejudiced foolishness - the likes of what you're rambling on about.
Scalaid6 wrote: LUCKY plays got the giants the win.
NOBODY held the Patsies O to ONLY 14 POINTS last year, EXCEPT THE JINTS!
LUCKY plays, though part of the game, had absolutely NOTHING to do with that!
...did I already say "biased, prejudiced foolishness"?...Oh, yeah...Scalaid6 wrote:I dont appreciate Ben, I'm a steeler fan NOT a Ben fan. I was a Steeler fan BEFORE Ben and will be AFTER Ben.
Scalaid6 wrote:I am not...a NFL QB so for you to tell me to play Qb in the league shows how much of a ignoramous you really are...
I never suggested that you SHOULD play QB in the NFL, Mr. Reading Comprehension 101. I'm sure we can find about 5 guys with the same build as Iggles LBs to strap on pads and take a five-yard run at you for a couple of hours (my ACTUAL suggestion) Don't worry, you'll even get to wear pads yourself. The nonrestrictive, really light, downright flimsy ones so you can really feel like a NFL QB. But play one? Oh, no, I would never suggest that...
Scalaid6 wrote:I am not fat nor am I lazy
No? I get it - you're puffed up, and my computer monitor makes you LOOK fat...
...My bad...
Scalaid6 wrote:I know football as evidence by my posts.
...you almost make it too easy...
There's really no more here that merits a response. Suffice it to say that there's only one thing that bears repeating with this guy, which is...
Wha make you tink I won cutchu, mang?!?

Did he make any points? No! A classic case of mouth in overdrive/brain in neutral
