D needs to step up and start pressuring Carr. A lot of those stops in the first half were due to drops or badly thrown passes.

Yes, I do remember the Unitas thing, but I believe he had a bit more talent than TT. That being said I am unable to make an informed comment on TT since I have not seen him on a consistent basis and as you say he may have lacked a decent chance. He did spank the Stillers on one play, but that was due more to inept coaching; something we never see now!

Good point about coaching errors. This is exactly why I say we are in for some long dry seasons until that issue is rectified, whether we get to the SB or not. These coaches don't have what it takes in this league.

-The word on BR7 is he'll be out a few weeks. Browns next week and then a bye. I was bitching that the bye came so late again this season. Not anymore.

-A.B. was a pure fucking freak of a beast today. I am going to absolve him of that punt return fumble because not only did he basically single handedly win the game today, it wasn't his decision to go in there on the return. You brought Jacoby Jones in for a reason; Let him do his job.

-Speaking of which, I wasn't impressed with Jacoby Jones today. Too much running right to where the pile was, although the return blocking was bad as usual. Still, I said this is the other thread, there was a reason SD released him in the first place.

-Defense was fucking awful overall. Gave that fairy Carr WAAAAY too much time in the pocket to just play pitch and catch with his receivers. He threw for 300 yards, had a WR with over 100 yards receiving, and had Murray not gotten hurt, would've had a RB over 100 yards for the 2nd time in 3 games. They did force The Oakland O into 2 turnovers, though, which is more than they would've done last year. Still, a bad game for them only to be bailed out by A.B.'s stellar play.

Agree 76 with your take on Jacoby and I also said as much in the game thread. Never have liked getting the best WR in the game handling punts and it is only a matter of time before he gets clobbered. Like you said let JJ handle those duties. I also agree with your comments on the D and in a separate thread mentioned that I am tired of watching Timmons drop back in coverage on a WR and get burned as happened yesterday.
