Steelers #5 pick = TE Jesse James

Fills a need with a big bodied TE.
Slow 40 time at 4.83.
but otherwise a workout warrior (colbert loves those work out numbers)
position best in Bench Press reps, vertical jump, broad jump and 60 yard shuttle.
despite these number is a pretty mechanical TE. Not inspiring as a blocker or a route running, defense stretching TE. Though does use his body well, and is money in the red zone.
High character guy.
Sports Illustrated ranks him as the 139th overall prospect and he was drafted with pick 160

I like this pick, especially seeing where he was drafted.
He can't be any worse than Spaeth and Palmer were/are.

I've watched this kid for 3 years now at Penn State, and I was thrilled to see him drafted by the Stillers! If Bill O'Brien is still the coach in Happy Valley, Jesse James would be no less than a 3rd round pick next season. As Hammer says, the guy is money in the Red Zone, where we could use some serious help. His frame length and vertical jump create match-up problems for the defense. My biggest fear is that they will use him solely as a Tackle Eligible. His blocking was adequate, but hardly stellar.

Red zone threat and the tall guy to throw to that Ben's been wanting for a while. Kid is 6'7. He makes the 53.
