Steelers pick #6b = DE Anthony Chickillo

I like this player, I hate this pick.
He is a classic tweener.
6'3", 270 pounds 4.79 40 time.
not big enough for 3-4 end.
not fast enough for 3-4 olb, and no evidence he can cover.
perhaps with his good lateral movement in the cone and shuttle drills he can play a zone coverage close to the LOS, but by the time he learns it, he could be cut.
S.I. ranks him as 190th overall prospect, and he was picked 212, but if he can't stick, it's a wasted pick.
he is a tough kid who never missed a game in college, plays to the whistle and is a total effort guy.
Hate to count a guy like that out, so hope I'm wrong and he finds a spot on this roster, but looks like a practice squad guy to me at best.

The Steelers are calling him a Linebacker.
we'll see.
Mike Vrable comes to mind

Our own Haven does have him ranked as a 3rd round value....but that's as a DE
