Tomlin has had a history of playing too conservative and ending up with a FG attempt too long for comfort..... Anything longer than 40 years is unacceptable.

why burn the time out with 30 seconds left. if you are going to kick the long FG, let the clock run down first

The announcers said the Ravens called the timeout.......... Stupid play, if they actually did that.thesteelhammer wrote:why burn the time out with 30 seconds left. if you are going to kick the long FG, let the clock run down first

must have.
NFL.com had it as out time out.
but then we called another at 3 seconds, so it must have been the rats time out at 30 seconds.

It is only a 2 minute game. With only two time Out. If we have a playoff offense we win the game. If not we go to OT
OK. Your Crazy....We don't have a play off offense, and OT might not be good for a team that started hot and has just been hanging on this quarter. I definitely would have preferred a stop by our D.
plus think of Ben's 2 minute drills this season....been some turn overs....which means a 3rd possibility.
Wish we hadn't burned that time out.
Turns out I was right. Bad Clock Managment by the Ratbirds. Harbaugh sent mixed messages :
- On side kick ( I do not trust my defense )
- I run the clock to the two minutes ( which makes it just a one possesion game. Why if you could have tried to speed thing ups and make it a 5 minutes / two possession game ? )

this years team knows how to keep the fans tuned in until the end of the game.
BTW: Browns losing by 11 with 6 minutes left

I would have rather seen a defensive stop on that last Ravens drive............... That drive was too easy.
Bungles alone in 1st place.

Had that Sanders return TD counted (the OB call was correct), the Ravens would have driven again to tie the game.....

The failed on-sides killed them.

Of course also I would. But if they have to score a TD you better make it a one possession game. Turns out it did end up that way. Say whatever you want but the Ratbirds had to speed things up and try to score with 5 - 6 minutes on the clock. They would have had the time to get the ball back and our needs would have changed. A FG wouldn't be enough for us...

Ohio, I agree with you that Harbaugh should have had faith in his Defense and didn't, instead putting them in a terrible spot.
Ben is as likely to turn the ball over in the 2 minute drill as he is to lead us to a score.

I always like the Offense chances on a two minute drill with the game tied. You have the game in your hands and do not depend on anybody. By the way other things I likeds :
- Jarvis Jones out ? No problem. We didn't miss a beat with Worilds in. He did his part even if it wasn't spectacular
- Loved the way they trusted Derek Moye. That third down conversion and that end zone throw. Good thing. He is a big target and we it is something our Offense has been lacking. Let's hope that Dumblin doens't make him pay for that Missed TD.
- Marcus Gilbert out of the game ? No problem. GUY WHIMPER PLAYED GREAT TO BE ONLY THE BACK-UP OF THE BACK-UP. I only think that this marks the end of Mike Adams. If they didn't trust him to be the Right Tackle I expect Colbert to cut him at the end of the season.
- Pouncey who ? An off the street Center is replacing him with no problems. Do we really need to sign this guy to a big contract extension when we have no space in the salary cap ?
