2nd round pick Michigan St. RB - Le'Veon Bell
Let the Jerome Bettis comaprisons begin.....ugh.
yes, he's a big back...and he's slow...and he doesn't catch very well or pass block very well.
Don't we have several of these guys on the roster already.
I hope I am wrong about Bell.

I have not seen any youtubers yet - but they say he has very good hands and catches the ball well. I am with you though. We got a whole bunch a big backs. If they are on him in the backfield before he gets moving it wont matter how big he is. I am not excited by the pick

Why the hell did they sign Larod Stephens-Howling to a deal today only to draft a RB in round 2??? Hasn't histrory proven time and again that good/great RBs can be found later on in the draft??
I would've put WR, OL, DB on the board before I would've RB.
Was this guy at least projected to go this early?

Well, Hammer, a couple of thoughts here. First, there will never be another Bettis, so it's crazy to compare anyone to him. Considering his weight, the abuse he took (and gave), and bad QB play for the first 3/4ths of his career, Bettis is the best overall back in NFL history, IMO.
Second, let me say first that I hate Sparty, with a passion. MSU is evil, and I can't stand their program and 99.9% of the people who are involved with it (Go Blue!!!). With that said, I like this pick. The sooner we can take control of the line of scrimmage and pound the ball late in games, the better we will be.
If Bell can start pounding the ball and running over people, play-action will start to thrive again in Pittsburgh.....and it's about time.
