RB Chris Rainey was released by The Steelers today after being arrested for a domestic altercation with his girlfriend.(As you'll recall, the 2nd such incident in 3 years.)

In a few years, if not sooner, the 2012 draft class may be looked at in the same light as The 2008 one. Yikes.

Although we don't have an embarrassment of riches at any position, it's nice to see the organization assert its principles and follow its pattern of cutting the bad actors loose.

If you're an individual who earns his living through athletic ability and adhering to some basic societal and contractual rules, you risk going from a very comfortable living to poverty very quickly. I suppose episodes like this are, with all due respect to the victims, a kind of IQ and character test that NFL teams would love to administer but cannot for legal or practical reasons. For better or worse, Rainey conducted his own test and failed miserably. Good bye.
