One of our best drafts for a while IMO. Things fell to us and we moved up when we needed to. I'd expect a little more chatter, but it's pretty apparent this site has died. Sad too, was always one of my favorites. Love the analysis, so I'll keep checking in until the end! Let's go Steelers!!!!!!

Picks #1, #2, and #4 made for an almost dream draft. I am not 100% sold on Spence or Rainey, but I hope they both prove me wrong. Both are lacking in size, but both have blazing speed for their positions. Spence will likely bench rot behind Foote all year, so we may not see anything from him except for the pre-season.

As always, the UFA class is strong in its own right. Butler may have been the best punter coming out this year and should be an immediate upgrade. Maze is a playmaker, but is undersized. And Adrian Robinson out of Temple was a guy I thought they might pick up in the 7th round anyway. Plus they got Darnell Stapleton's little brother in Desmond.

Should be a great training camp.

Rainey plays fast -- you can tell if you watched Florida consistently. My guess is they will put him in several spots and see what he can do. No idea about Spence but the reviews note he is really good in coverage so at least he may be a third down replacement for Foote this year.

The first two picks seem solid. My guess is Adams is a Max Starks-type. My guess is Heyward should know if that guy can play kind of like Pouncey last year with Gilbert.

Ta'amu supposedly is a big run stuffer that may not do much else but at least putting a 350 pound body on someone should help us some this year.

I am also very glad we did not waste picks with the usual fifth round QB we do not need, a kicker or some other obviously poor effort (like an undersized center). Hope the FO made the right call on some of these. The seventh rounders are the usual developmental picks with a tall WR, an HB, etc.

yep i'm pretty pleased with the selections this year, and agree that whiffing on late round qbs, kickers, etc is a wasted pick. Like the late OG as well as we seem to lose them in droves late in the season. Fill the practice squad with those guys. eventually we will need heirs to pola and clark in the outfield.
