Wallace to Denver?
Seems to make good sense. Denver has plenty of cap space, wants to give Manning as many tools as possible and a low first-round pick to give away is cheap. Throw in the chance to lock up 60 Minutes now before he's too pricey next year makes it an even easier call.
Re: Wallace to Denver?
Wallace should consider this.
Hines Ward doesn't chase the money, has a 14 year career with 3 super bowl appearances and is almost certain for the HoF.
How about the other Steelers receivers during Hines' era?
1. Plaxico Burress won't take the Steelers offer, chases the money, we know what happens there.
2. Santonio Holmes can't behave himself, gets booted, misses another Super Bowl trip, and is now considered to be locker room poison. He's not long for the league.
3. Antwaan Randle-El gets Dan Snyder money for a year or two then gets unceremoniously dumped and is now out of football
4. Nate Washington goes to Tennesee for more money, misses a chance to play in a 3rd super bowl, missed his chance to be a starter for the Steelers and now has an old fogey throwing to him instead of BR7.
No one will blame him if he chases the money, but a long-term contract with the Steelers for lower $ portends a better shot at a long-term career.

Re: Wallace to Denver?
I would like Wallace to stay. However, if he does leave, that's 2 first round picks in a deep draft. If he wants to chase the $$$, I wish him all the best.

Re: Wallace to Denver?
I agree with Steelers76. The Steelers left him dangling for a reason. Their fishing. I almost believe the Steelers are praying someone signs him to a offer sheet so they can get the 1st round pick. The Steelers work the draft as well as any team in the league. We have needs my blk n gold brethren. IN ORDER: Running Back, Nose Tackle, Guard, Inside LB.

Agree with the pervasive wisdom that getting a 1st rounder for Wallace would be a blessing.
Our Salary Cap is all messed up this year and not having to sign Wallace to a long-term deal would really help this year and years to come as Hampton and Big James would be shown the door. James has two years left I would think and hampton is entering his last. This past year would have been his last if not for his injury.
I think the Steelers would be smart to sign Doug Lug to a good deal and re-sign Max Starks.

Re: Wallace to Denver?
On Wednesday, the Sacramento Bee reported that Wallace drew interest from the San Francisco 49ers, citing a source. However, they and other interested teams were dissuaded when they learned that Wallace is seeking a richer deal than the one that will pay Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald $120 million over eight years
If this is true, I would rather see him go now and get the draft pick.

"Wallace should consider this.

And in the end, despite all of that, the Steelers absolutely shitted on Hines. Yeah, Wallace should consider that.
