Media taking the gloves off?

Postby Pommah » Tue Jan 10, 2012 5:42 pm

First I heard Tony Dungy call out Dick on nationwide TV. Now here's this from Jason Whitlock, Fox national columnist:

"Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick TeBeau isn’t taking nearly enough heat for getting Tim Tebeau-ed.

LeBeau is a great coach who had a bad day. It happens. In the second quarter, Tebow did more than enough to provoke a strategy change from LeBeau. Tebow burned the Steelers with downfield throws. It was time to back up Pittsburgh’s safeties and make Tebow prove he could consistently beat combination coverages.

It was arrogant and foolish to walk up Pittsburgh’s safeties in zero coverage on the first play of overtime and dare Tebow to win the game. Pittsburgh corner Ike Taylor is taking too much of the blame for poor coverage and poor tackling. The scheme was just as responsible. That falls on TeBeau and head coach Mike Tomlin."

LeBeau thought when Ike initially got burned, it was a fluke....... He thought when Ike got burned a second time, it was also a fluke....... It wasn't like Ike was playing fundamentally sound football and it was a great play by the QB/receiver- Quite the contrary...... Ike was totally clueless out there. And LeBeau mistakenly thought Ike would finally figure it out. No dice.

When a player with a "good reputation" is in reality a fraud, his coaches tend to be in denial over such notion.
Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

The local Pittsburgh Sports Media like Jory Rand and Gene Collier are still kissing LeBeau's ass. You think they'd finally wake up and get a fucking clue.

And Ron Cook, who thinks that Bruce Arians has the combined DNA of Paul Brown, Sid Gillman, and Bill Walsh.

If it weren't for Paul Zeise, Ron Cook would be the biggest blowhard shitbag in all of Pittsburgh Sports Media, which covers a lot of ground.

One thing I'm noticing just now about the aforementioned Pittsburgh Sports Media is that they hardly ever criticize the coaches here, letalone come out and say when some clearly need to be gone. Probably because they're afraid they won't speak to them for their radio shows or newspaper columns. Take for instance Pitt Basketball Coach Jaime Dixson. He's never won a NCAA Championship, played for a Chamionship, or even qualified for a Final 4 in 9 years here, yet they all treat him like John Wooden.
