Why didn't the pass rusher jump up to challenge the throw? The Stillers are the first team playing Tebow that hasn't attempted to knock passes down at the line.

Dick's stupid "Spy" strategy, basically has us playing defense with one fewer player.
Watch, there is always 1 defender just standing there chopping his feet.
No wonder Tebow looks good.

The Steelers are playing on house money. They should have lost this game.

That's not what lost the game........ Ike never had a step. Tebow's whole game is weak corners by the opposition. This reminded me of the play to Larry Fitzgerald in the Super Bowl.thesteelhammer wrote:It's Official:

This game should not have gone to overtime. We were playing with half a team, and the Broncs almost gave the game away.
Against a normal team, we can play our safeties back, and our pass defense looks kind of "normal"......... But we never had good corners, and the need to use the safeties to stop the Broncos' run game exposed them.

I did watch part of the Broncos-Chiefs game at the end of the reg. season. The Chiefs had far better corners, and Tebow became afraid to challenge them.
This problem has been the Elephant in the Room on this team for a LONG time. The rest of the defense has made the corners look a lot better than they actually are.
Tebow had a 125.6 passer rating for the game. That's embarrassing.

This was a true clusterfuck of a game that exposed the bullshit that the Steelers were the number one defense. It is hard to defend LeBeau in this pile of shit. Ike could not NOT cover Thomas one on one and he left him there all day. When it was obvious that he needed two deep coverage, HE did not adjust. EVEN on the last fucking play of the game. He got tooled completely with Taylor there holding his dick as Thomas ran by him one more time. THAT was fucking TEBOW for christ sake. There is no excuse for this loss. One more troubling aspect is that the back ups SUCKED dick. Heywood was horrible although Harrison fucked up plenty allowing plays that he should have turned in run right the fuck by him.
What can you say about the offense too? Sucked but at least they were facing a good defense.
Here is a positive for all you positive types--- at least they don't have to go to New England where Brady would absolutely rape this fucking defense.

In defense of LeBeau, the "D" was playing well with horrible corners. Against most teams, where the safeties are playing to protect the corners, and with our pressure, this problem has been swept under the rug.
I judge an OC and DC on how they handle their personnel. And to be honest, I don't think any other DC would have done any better with our corners. Ike Taylor and William Gay are just flat out awful.
Now Bruce Arians is a totally different story......... We try the same plays over and over again, and the defense in time knows exactly what we're going to do. (Troy Pola would just eat up this offense.) This is why we've had problems late in football games.
Like that final drive in regulation. We run a double reverse or designed rollout to get into position for a long FG, we might be singing a different tune............

Dodger, There was no pressure. Tebow usually had all day to throw and after ten seconds when there was good coverage, he ran for first downs. But there is no defense of LeBeau's lack of adjusting to the game situations when you realize that Ike could not cover Thomas nor Gay cover Royal. So he had to give him help which he didn't and you see the result.
Oh what the fuck is the point of arguing over this-- like I said, this team right now is not very good and you could not possibly think that should that reverse worked that they would do anything but get the living shit beat out of them by New England. Tebow threw for 301 yards! Can you imagine what Brady would do to this shit defense at this point?

There was no pressure because the Broncs stacked the line. No different from Tebow against other teams........ The difference was he went for the deep ball, and the corners made plays. Then Tebow couldn't do a thing. LeBeau tried the exact same thing, and if we had even decent corners (not good ones like the Chiefs), the result would have been a lot different.LenSherwood wrote:Dodger, There was no pressure. What's really sad is if you take away the deep ball, our "D" actually did well on the run and option plays. This was maybe the worst cornerback play I've ever seen in a single NFL game.
I thought our corners were borderline awful, but now I think they're horrible. I hope Ike is gone (maybe the most-overrated Stiller player I've ever seen) and Gay is made a backup and blitz safety. (Gay plays more like a safety than a corner.)
