Great analysis, Palmer. I couldn't agree more. I am in the Pollyanna camp, though, of believing that the Stillers should romp the Donkeys and, if they play to their ability for four quarters at a time, should beat either Baltimore (I love the "nightmare" scenario reference, BTW) or NE or both. (Don't count out the extreme possibility of a couple of Cincy upsets putting the AFC champ in Pitt). I agree that all three of those teams (Pitt, Balt., NE) have flaws, I just belive that the Steelers' flaws are more fixable, while the Choke-artist-of-a-playoff-loser Flak-O and the HORRENDOUS defense of NE are more intrinsic, intractable woes.

We all know the issue here. The Steelers should beat the Broncos by more than 20 points, but they will find a way not to.

Finally an article. Were not ahead by 17 at start of 4Q, uh-oh. We got a lot of injuries going into NE, not Balt, I hope. I just want to knock the cheaters out of the playoffs once :)

I predict that this game will be a nail biter like most this year. The Steelers always seem to play at the level of the competition.

In the AFC championship game in Denver in 2005 we started fast scoring 24 pts in the first half and eliminated the crowd. Will we be as intense this Sunday?

Boxscore for Big Ben AFC Championship
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT
B. Roethlisberger 21/29 275 9.5 2 0
Rat: 124.9

This game is on the offense, the D will be fine.

3. Maintain scheme the ENTIRE game, including the last 5 minutes. Teams that have lost to Denver have switched from aggressive man coverages to soft zones at the end of the game. Chicago was especially guilty of this – after squelching Tebow all game with tight coverages, they sat back in zones in the last few minutes, allowing easy checkdowns and dump-offs. In the end they paid the price.

Unfortunately for the Stillers faithful, we are all too familiar with the "Dick Le Blow Prevent" defense. It was trademarked several seasons back, consisting of 55 minutes of curb-stomping aggression, followed by 3 TDs in the last 5 minutes because our DBs start 30 yards off the LOS.

Stillers @ Donkeys will be no different than limping into Cleveland last week. We will be chewing our towels into the late 4th Quarter. If they pull off any pick 6's we will be getting ready to pick low in the draft

Just wanted to inject a positive, glass-half-full point. We all remember the bitter loss to NE in AFC champ at Pitt in Ben's rookie season. Most of us also know that Ben turned to the Bus after thast game and begged him to come back for one more year, promising him he would get him to the Super Bowl: a promise he made good on. I can't help but wonder if he made a similar promise to Hines after the heartbreaker to the Fudgepackers last year: come back for one more year and I'll get you back there. With Wally, AB, et al, stepping up, Ward's days are probably numbered, as has been pointed out on this site. Hines got his 12,000 yds, got his 1000 catches. Maybe Ben, despite the injury to his ankle, is about to will this team forward to another unbelievable Super Bowl run and let Psycho Ward ride off into the sunset with one more ring on his hand. It could just happen.

Well Isfry, the game that we witnessed this evening was a scenario where the glass was completely full...of piss.

Isfry, It spares us from witnessing further disasters though. I haven't ever thought that this team was all that great this year, especially in the last two months. They would have gone to New England even further depleted on a defense that let Tebow throw for 301 yard on 2 tds on them. I can't imagine the horror that Brady would inflict on them at this point. He could easily put up 45 points on this defense.

Once again Palmer sucks you prove that you know nothing about the game of football. Flacco a garbage qb? You must have forgotten about the 92 yard drive against your old ass defense. Have fun watching the mighty Ravens this Sunday!!

Look who's back! Welcome back Edreed20.

Flacco has the opportunity to put himself in the "elite" category this year. He's got a good team around him and good coaching. I'd rather have your team go than the Pats (but I'd rather see Denver or Houstong go than you). That said, I think he's going to blow it like he always does. I doubt very much he'll be hoisting the Vince. But good luck to you anyway.

Make up your mind. Either Flak-O is a good QB or our "old-ass" defense sucks. You can't have it both ways on that "drive." I'm sorry to say, it's the latter that's true. I half hope the Ratbirds make it to Indy, tho, just cuz it'll be fun to watch Breesus put up a fiftyburger on 'em.
