NFL Mulling Suspension of Harrison.... Maybe Two Games.....

Postby StillDodger » Sun Dec 11, 2011 8:45 pm

Is there a way to petition the ouster of Goodell? He is the worst commissioner in the history of sports.

Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

One way would be if you could convince the tv advertisers that they are going to lose money because of ol Rog. The dollar is what these guys respond to. Unless viewership is going down, that would be a tough sell.

Punishment has been levied. The putrid, wretched, horrible decision to suspend one of the NFL's most incredible players ever is in. Harrison Suspended For One Game

Any word on an appeal? MT was silent on it in his press conference today, but if Jamie has to miss a game (which is complete and utter bullshit) I'd sure rather have it be against the Lambs or in the last game against the Brownies than this upcoming MNF matchup.

Nevermind. Here's the answer.

Double bullshit. The only way he plays Monday is if he wins the appeal, and if it happens before the weekend, probably. I somehow thought people were allowed to play until their appeal was heard on a suspension. no? Another interesting note in the article linked above is that the NFL "hasn't suspended a player for a tackle since Packers defensive end Charles Martin was given a two-game suspension for body-slamming Chicago Bears quarterback Jim McMahon to the ground in 1986." 25 years later and all he did was tackle a guy running for a first down. Triple bullshit.

You can thank fantasy football for this. It is all about protecting the players to not upset your fantasy league outcome.

No shit, right? And free agecy, for that matter. Steve Garvey said it best; "The difference between the old ballplayer and the new ballplayer is the jersey. The old ballplayer cared about the name on the front. The new ballplayer cares about the name on the back."

Just watched "The Blind Side" One of the most wholesome football movies ever made. Just about every MFing hit is helmet to fucking helmet. Motherfucking GOODELL can stay. Just long enough to see Harrison get MVP for the Super Bowl and loft the Lombardi trophy on the victory stand. There is a reason Goodell gets booed every draft day. He is an asshole. He is in the pocket of all the owners whose QBs are pretty boys. He is their golden boy. He is our enemy
