Didn't make it through the wiki filter, but idc
This is where everything went to complete shit for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Through 16 consecutive starts, William Gay was thrown to 84 times. Through 16 consecutive games, out of 84 throws, William Gay had 11 passes defensed and 0 (ZERO) interceptions. The rest of the throws were either caught, or off target. The only off target passes were ones where the opposing qb's were under heavy pressure and just threw up a prayer in the vicinity of William Gay, knowing he was as helpless as a quadriplegic when it comes to football. The rest obviously went for completions, including 17 (SEVENFUCKINGTEEN) touchdowns. The steelers did not make the playoffs that year, due to a 5 game losing streak in which they could not hold 4th quarter leads (when asked about how they pulled off the comeback each of the 5 qb's claimed they simply realized all they have to do is throw it anywhere near Gay's side of the field).
In the 2010, the Steelers once again made the playoffs, after benching William Gay for the return of Bryant McFadden. The Steelers tried to hide their aching, gushing, obvious weakness in William Gay as the season went on, including setting him up to have him get a cute little fumble return against the New York Jets in the AFC Championship, but their Super Bowl opponent knew what they were up against. "I am 100% fully aware that William Gay is the worst corner to ever play the game of football," said Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the opposing Green Bay Packers. "I know he will bring his 'F' game like usual, and I plan on getting my title belt," he said, referencing his touchdown dance of signifying a title belt around his waste. Gay, as 4th cb, was in charge of covering Jordy Nelson for the night. Rodgers went a pedestrian 15 of 30 for 160 yards and 1 touchdown to all receivers other than Jordy Nelson, but went 9 for 10 for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns to Nelson.. The Packers ended up defeating the Steelers 31-25 off of 3 turnovers and William Gay, but somehow decided that Aaron Rodgers was their mvp when it was clearly Gay. The only thing that confuses football fans more than that MVP decision is why on earth the Steelers did not drop William Gay before the start of the 2011 season but rather put him back up as 2nd corner.
As the current 2011 season has gone on, William Gay has managed to quietly sabotage game after game, ready to get another Super Bowl MVP bid.

William Gay is a decent man to man corner if he isn't grossly over matched. Over matched = Gronkowski, Nelson types. Gay will get in his opponents face, and tackle him after the catch.

I like that ... IF he is not grossly overmatched, he can play.
Question: When isn't he grossly overmatched?

As long as he's covering a guy who isn't 6'2+ or doesn't have 4.4 speed. He makes a solid nickel corner. That's about it.
