They're scared
In over 50 years of observing steeler football I've never seen the team looking scared until ...
They were scared in the superbowl against Green Bay
They were scared playing the Ravens
Thanks Arty II
Thanks Tomlin
Thanks Colbert

Re: They're scared
Gotta disagree Coke.
I've said this before --- this is a PAID profession. The notion that one team is "afraid" of another is all theatrics dreamt up by the announcers on TV. This a job for these ass hats. Nothing more, nothing less.
Here's fear -- being shot at. Being held up. Having someone's life in your hands (literally). THAT is fear. What these peckerheads do is call entertainment.
I sweare the NFL is just a breath away from being the WWF. This crap is getting comical.
No, what you are seeing is incompetence at the OC / DC positions, lack of talent along the OL, and age.
IMHO

Re: They're scared
indysteel, I think we're both right.
As a combat veteran of Viet Nam I've seen and experienced the kind of fear that you're talking about and that's definitely not what I'm seeing in this Steeler team.
There are, however, lesser fears that are real.
The fear of being embarrased.
The fear of losing.
The fear of getting caught in a lie or otherwise being exposed.
Those are more what I'm seeing.
I do agree with you wholeheartedly that this whole nfl scenario is looking more and more choreographed.

Re: They're scared
The entire decade of heavy metal hair bands wasn't scary enough? The AFC losses in the 90s showed a lot of pansy fear as well.
Re: They're scared
They were a rough tough physical team back then. They may not have won on the scoreboard but they would sure beat your ass trying. Not scared at all.

THANK YOU. I'm so tired of this bullshit espn cocksucker notion of putting all this emotion into football. I hate it when they talk about a young quarterback "building confidence", too. He's already made it to the nfl! Confidence plays no factor at this point. They're just dudes getting paid millions to do what they love. If I was Donovan McNabb, you could boo me all you want. Still makin a helluva lot more money than your happy ass.
Also, You know who else was a common factor in those two games? Willam motherfucking Gay. The entire steelers bar I was at was just cursing his name the entire night. EVERYONE KNOWS at this point!
