Great read. I totally agree about the hatred. Recently I had to move to Cincinnati from my beloved East End (Friendship, stand up). I really wish I could be in Pittsburgh for this game. I'd pay whatever it cost to go. My girlfriend and I were talking about the game this evening and I asked her if she had a good or forbidding feeling about the game. She told me she didn't have feeling one way or the other. After pausing she looked at me said: "I hope they fucking hurt them." There is something in the air about this game. I think all the real fans feel this way. I think the Steelers will bring the hatred and the hammer. Fuck the Ravens, yinz in Stillers country now.

Palmer I love your insight and commentary. Totally agree that you spread it out and throw it and stay away from Balts front seven strength. Funny how the roles were reversed against NE with the Steelers providing the blueprint to beat someone elses defense for a change and BR7 out Bradying Brady. I look for Heath to have another big day, if you work him underneath early the the long passing game will be there later, not to mention it should make for easier sledding in the run game. Stay away from the five step drop with the exception of some deep flags/posts to the guys on the outside. I suppose we will see if Max Starks is actually the difference maker we've made him out to be. We all remember how wretched the pass pro was on the left side in Baltimore's Week 1 Superbowl win.

On defense it's a lot more complicated. While not in the category of Mill (who I appreciate for not being afraid of telling it like it is) chalk me up for not praying at the Wooden Dong altar. He's a good player, not great. Although I don't think the Steelers are better defensively without him, I am curious to see how the youth movement (you know, the guys without the complacency inducing effects of a $ 61 millon dollar contract) responds in his absence. We will have LB's that will play like they have something to prove in this game. Include Silverback in that group. I think Worlids will respond with a respectable game in his first NFL start.

Even though the Balt offense begins and ends with Ray Rice, I'm not sure if the defensive alignment or the commentary in the article gives enough respect to Boldin. I can see us in a lot of nickel packages with Lewis or Ike covering the Boldin/Smith duo. In my mind you find someone to spy Rice. Is Troy that guy? Put the ball in Jacco's hands and make him beat you. It's worked in the past.

Great article, Palmer. It really got the blood flowing to think of how fucking miserable I was five minutes into week one, and ever since. None of the victories since have gotten rid of that taste in my mouth, not even last week's. As for the offensive scheme, you say:

"After the game, Coach Tomlin warned that there was no way the Stillers could do the same thing against the Ravens without getting punished. I could not agree with you more, but I'm not entirely certain MT doesn't agree, too. This seemed like a pretty obvious smokescreen to me, so as to avoid blatantly announcing, "Behind me on the projector you will see our offensive game plan for next week's game against Baltimore."
I also like your Diesel D. I think the single safety over the top allows Pola the freedom to rush Flak-O, cover a slot guy, spy Rice, or aid in run D. The number one thing, as you stated quite clearly, is we need the hatred and the fire and the disgust back in our hearts. I want to see stretchers full of purple headin off the field tomorrow. By the way, if Suggs "owns" Ben's ass, does that mean he also owns Ben's hand, which houses the two rings that went to the 'Burgh since T-Fizzle joined the league?

Come back in January when Flacco still wonders what a SB ring smells like, ED REED. His SB was Game 1 of this season. And his Pro Bowl was the gift wrapped win from Arians Abortion and Lebeau Lobotomy. I have nothing against the guy, but Average Joe will never sniff a SB ring that isn't made of plastic. If the Steelers wind up playing the Ravens again when it REALLY matters this winter, everyone knows which team will walk out with their head held high-and every Ravens fan knows it and is SCARED SHITLESS of it. So this really is your best time to crow about the Crows, troll. And by the way Palmer, I think it is safe to say Palmer Still Sucks. Being outduelled by TIM TEBOW just doesn't look good on a resume.
