Good write up... for sure you're right about end of half and game.
But if those dong sacks were so easy, why ins't everyone getting 2 a week. Woodley did what we've been yelling for Stillers to do for year s- put some serious heat and licks on Brady. Give him props.
LeBeau obviously did not feel he had the guys to play press coverage until now. Lewis, gay and Allen were not playing like this. Credit maturity, Lake or a combination but it puts them in much better space.

Finally some creative game planning and not the old stale game plan against Brady. Also no major special teams gaffes, as that has been a staple for the Steelers in these games. Plus we didn't get any roughing the passer or late hits, except for Clark's oob boner. Nice job by all and finally something to smile about!

Anyone else out there get the shakes with Swiss-miss-ham attempts a FG? This guy is going to cost us down the road. Congrats to the Stillers on a really nice win. Let's hope the passion is there next Sunday for a good old fashion ass beating of the Ratbirds!

"Ryan Clark spent most of the game looking for cheap-shots at defenseless receivers and backs."
Seriously, why is this fuck still on the roster? when was the last time he did something positive for this team?

Nice analysis, Mill. I have some quibbles: To be fair, only Woodley had sacked Brady until the last series by the Pats. He has to be doing something right though I certainly am not ready to crown him defensive MVP. I think you were too hard on Sepulveda; that short punt guaranteed virtually no return. And I think you could be more generous with Ben R's grade - he won the game through the ball-control passing game. The last thing is that the tone could be more celebratory. This was a huge win psychologically, after a week of "Brady owns the Steelers" stories and the need to put together a complete game without too many gaffes. Even the most optimistic among us hoped for a shootout with the Steelers having the last possession. This was a dominating performance against the biggest set of jagoffs in the NFL.
I certainly agree that the next game - and the Bengals game after Sunday - are more important than yesterday's victory. The Steelers need to stay focused and not do what the Jets did last year in the playoffs (sleep through the first half of the game after beating New England). Still, it's nice to have the confidence of a signature victory going into the most important game of the season.

LMAO......sometimes, Mill is way too critical for his own good. Woodley could fight off the blocks of 10 men on a play , then fight off the block of every man on New England's bench, then slam Brady down to the ground, and Mill would say, "Uh, they let him come in for a DongSack".
Relax, Mill. Let Woodley alone, dude, he's just a fukking animal right now.

(Timmay) Woodley could fight off the blocks of 10 men on a play , then fight off the block of every man on New England's bench, then slam Brady down to the ground, and....
Sorry, Timmay. Nice try, no cigar. When Woodley fights off the blocks of TEN players, come see me. Actually, when Woodley fights off a simple double-team, come see me.
Big LaMarr is picking up where Jason GillDong left off......running UNTOUCHED at the QB for easy Dong Sacks. Clark Haggans, Jason Worilds, Stev Sylvester, even Larry Foote could do the same thing in THIS scheme.
We here at Stillers.com don't fawn over Dong Sacks and Dong INTs. This is the same logic that applied to SB MVP Larry Brown, who had TWO Dong INTs in the Sup Bowl and then parlayed it into a huge contract....and did jack shit.
Now, let's see what Big LaMarr does vs. Balt. He had his ass handed to him in week 1.

Whatever. We've been yelling for heat on Brady for 10 years. Woodley provided it and I don;t give a fuck if he ran over a ham sandwich to do it. They out someone in front of him, he knocked him over and hit Brady. What's he supposed to do apologize because the dude has a bad back? Sack Brady 2x? Make Mill a chipped ham sandwich, with extra mustard and two pickles and personally deliver it?
as for this,
As for LeBeau, when he felt he had the horses, he went to man press coverage. He could not do it in past years.
as for this,
... How about the hit to keep the Pats out of the EZ? That was a beaut."Ryan Clark spent most of the game looking for cheap-shots at defenseless receivers and backs." Seriously, why is this fuck still on the roster? when was the last time he did something positive for this team?

Great job Mill... best write up of the season thus far.
Kudos to Tomlin and crew for a killer game plan - They went in with the idea to out 'Patriot' the Patriots.
Some interesting stat lines...
- 29 first downs... damn!
- 189 yards passing for Goodell's favorite son - his lowest of the season by 91 yards
- Sepulveda - 1 punt... occurring with 00:19 left in the 4Q
- Stillers scoring drives of 5:52, 7:47, 5:39, 7:06, and 5:54.
I loved Polamalu punching the ball out of the EZ, despite Phil Simm's whiny ass complaining for 3 minutes that it should be a penalty. Very heads up play since it is almost impossible to catch live and cannot be reviewed.
Anyone else wonder how the fuck there was no flag for DPI on Antonio Brown in the EZ? The guy was clearly NOT going for the ball. BR7 was pissed and confronted the Back Judge about it, but got no answer. The only way I can see that not being DPI is that it was within 5 yards of the LOS and considered a chuck.

Great game plans, aggressive offensive and press defense, who da thunk it? Friggin great game, ahahahaha.
We pressed, it worked, what Lewis is becoming CB #2 along with Ike?
Pedal to the metal offense play calling, but what the hell was that at the end of the game,as Mill stated?
Take the friggin odds, run the ball, eat clock and maybe try a ICE-EM FG, Arians said he wanted to get more 1st downs?
Thats just dumb there, take the path for almost sure win, at worst it takes more time and maybe 2 score lead. 2 sacks, taken out of FG range and
get the QB killed???? OC looked like a genius except for the last 4 mins.
It looked like once Woodley left the game our so did our pass rush?

Only reasonable conclusion from that asinine ending was they had no faith in Suisham. But i agree wtih Mill... still could have run two more plays and then punted with seconds left, at worst.

I'm pretty sure Woodley laid the "dong" to StillMill's old lady. There's no other reason for having so much hate directed at one person.
Re: New Article: Stillers-Patriots Postgame Analysis and Grades
Excellent work, Mill. I appreciate and applaud your commitment and attention to detail. I also think Woodley would have to single-handedly tackle the entire team and then tear Brady's head off to get any props from you, but thats fine. I dont think he's the second coming or anything, but he has filled a pretty big pair of shoes over the last few weeks and done so serviceably. Suisham scares the shit outta me, and you're right, BA's play calling at the end of both halves was deplorable, in contrast to a well schemed game most of the day. Red zone offense could get a little better, too. 2 outta five aint gonna cut it but at least the chip shots from inside the red zone are relatively makeable for Swiss Ham. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Brady flustered and pissed off and ineffective (at least until the final drive when LeBeau kinda showed his old self and backed off). Couple interesting points to me. One: notice that Super Coach could have challenged that pass into the end zone at 4:11 and probably gotten a TD but instead wasted over a minute and a half to get the three inches he needed? It wasdnt like they were rushing, either, and couldnt look at the replay upstairs. They ate almost the whole play clock before snapping the ball after that with Brady doing his best Manning impression under center for naught. Also, notice that Bellicheat had so little confidence in his "defense" that with over two and a half minutes left in a six point game with a full complement of time-outs he decided to go onsides? Seemed like the Patriots dont quite know what to do when their typical plan doesnt work with flying colors. Like Mike Tyson said, "Everybody's got a plan until they get hit." Bring on the frigging ratbirds. Time to settle the score.
Re: New Article: Stillers-Patriots Postgame Analysis and Grades
Well it took us 9 times, but we finally came up with a good game plan against the Pats.
Great job going to man D on the outside and allowing Troy to roam free and make plays. The tone was set early and often... Pats looked confused by both the passing attack on O and the press coverage on D. Line finally gave Ben some time and Arians finally let Heath run down the field.
The red zone offense leaves a lot to be desired. Not sure why Heath wasn't used then.
And just when I thought Arians was calling a thoughtful, clever, unpredictable offense... with 2 mins left in the game the Arians we all know and hate showed his ugly face. I understand going for the jugular and not taking your foot off the gas pedal against a team like the Pats. But with 2 minutes left, in FG range there was no need to run 2 passing plays. Run the ball, keep the clock going... maybe you get a first down... maybe you kick a field goal. The funniest part of the whole thing was that you could see Arians trying to explain himself to Tomlin on the sideline after that series.
Great job though... anxious to see if the line can resemble that success against the Ratbirds next week.

The way I look at Woodley's sacks are at least they came at good times. I know not everyone can sprint the edge take a hand chuck and keep going, so whatever. I miss having a OLB that wins battles at the line more often than not. I was thinking that maybe Woodley was playing better against the pats but he gave up on a sweeping misdirection run by Faulk. Its like if he gets the blocking scheme he knows he can beat or a play he knows he can stop he gives it his all, and when he has to bust his ass for nothing, he wont.

First, let me say KUDOs to offense staff for this game plan. Where has this offense been all yr when things were tough (Houston, Balt, Jags)? we have been screaming (all on this post) for this -use the talent we have. Finally!
As for Dick L and pressure D. Well, well, I hope he done learnt sumptin'! These boys can play and play shut down.
Bolquin and Rice ae next. Stop these 2 and Balt will be playing for wild card. I hope this takes hold.
Mill, YOU ARE RIGHT-ON with these assinine fiasco's at the end of the halves.
I told my son, "We are NOT out of the woods after Hern scored and we're up 23-17. Plenty of time left 2 mins + for NE to strike and it would be typical of us to change defense scheme."
Then Benji gets 2 sacks? Are you freaking kidding me? Then Seppy STILL gives them FP at 22? He is NOT worth the 3rd round pick. He can't even approach the damn corner if you spotted him at the 30. NO F'ing way this game should have been that close. That 3rd down give-away where we then missed then FG? Ben just tosses it into no man's land? What was that? Not even an effort to convert when we were converting at ridiculous numbers?
Love the W. Glad we humbled them. The issue is this game should have been over by middle of 3rd qtr. They were still in it until Keisels' timely play. THAT NEEDS FIXED and it is coaching. ALSO THESE ASSAHOLIC PENALTIES.
Can Clark and Mundy go to a room and only 1 come out? Hey Dick, get control of your players.

Woodley has significantly improved over the last 2, maybe 3 weeks.
Sunday was looking good too . . . .
but he is still inferior to Silverback.
He was wretched the first 5 weeks though! I'm on other boards and everyone is jumping on the Woodley bandwaggon, even suggesting he deserves to be halfway MVP!!!
Looks like he won't make Baltimore, I hope Worilds/Carter steps in and gets a couple of sacks to shut everyone up.

Me too! Nothing like having a guy making Oh... about $60.5 Million less filling in and doing the exact same job to make Colbert look a complete tool. Carter had a pretty decent preseason against inferior talent. Would love to see him step up and grab the bull by the horns!
