Got to give creit where credit due...

Postby oldschoolhunkie » Sun Oct 09, 2011 8:49 pm

I was not able to see most of the second half today but I saw enough to strongly beleive that several of our favorite whipping boys kicked ass today. If we rag on them when they suck, then only right to do the opposite. who can disagree with any of these?

Farrior was formidable and all over the place.

Foote was fine.

Woodley stepped up big time and played like he had something to prove.

Gay was very solid.

LeBeau and other coaches were smart enough to stick with Gay/Lewis and not give McF his job back.

Hines Ward looked anything but done.

Ben was mostly money.

Tomlin had the team fired up and brilliantly used a challenge at a key moment.

Arians called a great game, utilizing many, many 3 step drops and quick hits to many receivers.

LeBeau called an aggressive game.

Dwyer...well, he doesn't count because I don't remember anyone ragging on him...

You don't remember anyone ragging on Dwyer for being so out of shape coming in to camp?

I still think he could cut out a few twinkies and get into a little better running shape--would most starting backs get chased down like he did? And I wasn't too thrilled with him, late in the game, when he did his little Mendy "dance behind the line" thing.

Still, he amassed a lot of yardage, so I won't be too hard on FatBoy.

Yes, that's true about Dwyer.. he seemed to have eaten himself off the team. He hit hat hole hard, and had one nice little subtle juke that turned a 20-yard gain into what it was.

The secondary did an excellent job limiting receivers. :sucope:

Chris Hoke once again filled in great for Hampton, and Timmons did well to play more disciplined after he got caught out of position on that first play. The Stillers tackled Chris Johnson much better than they did Arian Foster.
