Thats more like it. Only 1? QB sack, hello Max, welcome back we sure missed u. Ravens whip us, Tenn whips them and we whip Tenn, weird.
D looked way better after first play, thought it was gonna be another long day.

I think you got it all. The Play by Lewis might have been Mundy's fault if they are in cover 2. If they are man he has to stick with the wr, if they're in zone Mundy has the over the top and the CB is supposed to check for someone coming out late underneath. Big thumbs up to Starks. All of those underneath passes should be noted the next time we play an opponent that we're having trouble defending the pass rush. It didn't happen yesterday, but some of those will break and keep Ben upright instead of trying to go deep on every throw.

I followed OldSchoolHunky's advice and took my kids to the zoo yesterday. Came home to learn that the rout was nearly over. From reading about the game, this season has become interesting. Just how bad is the offensive line? Is Harrison indispensable? Has Mendenhall burned out after two busy seasons? Is the defensive line starting to shape up? As Mill suggested, we really won't know until the New England game - although, as Mill also noted, it seems like anything can happen each week, especially in the wishy washy AFC.

Hey Touro, while you were titty jousting with the walruses, I was watching the game. Joke's on you.
Lines, O and D, were both much improved.

I think the Mendy thing is he needs a kick in the butt to get him to quit tiptoeing through the tulips. As I believe Mill said in an earlier article"take the friggin' 2 yard gain and go back to the huddle". It's better than a loss while you're trying to find a hole. I think Harrison will get a chance to let his back heal and get stronger. IMHO he'll be fine once he gets his back right. Hopefully that's this year.

Agree with everything but your assessment of Woodley. You tend to do this every year. You find one guy who is struggling, and then bash him every game regardless of how he plays. Woodley was a lot better than he was all season, yet you still bash him. He had a great bull rush on his sack. Yes he dd it against a RB, but that's what he is supposed to do, and he did it! Can't bash him for that. Also, that interception is a lot harder than you think. He had a 320 pound lineman hanging on his back while tracking the ball and then catching it while in the air. No it's not a top 10 play, but it's not easy either. And from what I saw, Woodley got a lot more pressure than Timmons did,

How dare you stand up for this year's favorite whipping boy?! Lamar Woodley is so bad, Still Mill is FORCED to do a (quite) lengthy post every week documenting every misstep the man makes. If Woodley saved a child from a burning building, he would correctly point out that a superior linebacker would have done it quicker and would have also rescued the child's favorite teddy bear in the process. This type of free thinking is not welcome around here!

I still want a second opinion on the onside kick we lost.......I could be wrong, so maybe I could be corrected. Last I knew, when any player is in the process of pursuing the ball, or not actively blocking, then they cannot me arbitrarily tackled by whoever chooses to. Now, a kick off may be a totally separate instance where that sort of thing is allowed, but I guess what I'm really getting at is that Battle was knocked out of the air while trying to grab that ball and someone up-ended him. I'm of the thinking that you cannot tackle or interfere with anybody until they have contact with the ball, or are actively blocking, or it's a penalty. I don't think Arnaz is to blame on this one, I feel the refs fucked up by not throwing a flag........am I wrong?

Re: New Article: Stillers-Titans Postgame Analysis and Grades
Personally, I'd give the ST no higher than a "D"........ In most games, a blocked punt is a game-changer. We were fortunate to have a big lead in the 4th qtr when this occurred. I also think not recovering an onside kick was a big black mark as well. The fake punt was great, but I thought was more than negated by two inexcusable plays.
I also think you were too hard on Woodley this game. You were correct about his play in the other games, but he showed up for this one.

Personally, I saw no penalty in that one. It was "incidental contact". Note that the Steelers didn't dispute anything on the play.Still Peon wrote:I still want a second opinion on the onside kick we lost.......I could be wrong, so maybe I could be corrected. If there was a play that did bother me (aside from the two ST blunders), it was Tomlin's not throwing a challenge flag after the "catch" leading to the first Tits TD. With the big lead, losing a time-out in that situation (which I'm sure wouldn't have happened) wouldn't have been all that critical.

You really can;t blame woodley for bullrushing and flattening his blocker, reaching over him to yank down the qb because said blocker was a RB. He ran over who was in front of him. And yes that INT had a damn high degree of difficulty. I think everyone also needs to tip hat to Willie Gay,favorite whipping boy who looks pretty damn good to me.

I believe that the rule you are thinking of is fair catch interference, which only applies to punting situations. In a punting situation, the receiver must be given a fair opportunity to field the punt in the air cleanly (even if they do not signal for a fair catch). In punting situations, the ball is not considered 'live' until the receiving team touches the ball. In a kickoff situation, the ball is considered 'live' as soon as it goes 10 yards. The receiving player has the opportunity to signal for a fair catch on a kickoff, in which case he may not be touched. However, you may only signal for a fair catch if the ball has not struck the ground. This is why all onside kicks begin with the kicker drilling the ball into the ground and trying to get the big bounce to allow his players to get to the ball.

Ok, just so I'm clear on this, during an onside kick as soon as the ball hits the ground, which is immediately, then anyone is free to tackle/block (not in the back) anyone else they please. Because if this is not the case, then Battle was fouled as fuck.
Following the same logic as above, then anytime a fumble occurs you are free to knock anyone who's going for the ball on their ass, and again, not from the back.
I appreciate the explanation, but I still don't think that's correct, and that the refs fucked up.
Also, I'd like to add that I don't believe that Woodley was that bad during this game, and I actually think he did alright........he should get a WoodenDong pass this week.

He's correct. As soon as the ball hits the ground on a kickoff, it's a live ball. You can hit, tackle, or block anyone you want in an attempt to gain possession of the ball. The same rule applies on a tipped pass or fumble. In order for the kickoff team to gain possession of the ball, the ball must go 10 yards. The play was perfectly legal. I think you need to read up on the rules some more.

Is Woodley playing 10 mill a year good?
The Steelers will only be as successful as Big Ben is!

If this is true then why don't you always see players gabbing and tossing each other when stuff like that happens? I'm pretty sure that what you're saying only applies if the pusher/shover/tackler is actually going for the ball. This was clearly not the case on Sunday when the Titans player blasted Battle out of the sky. Now, if Battle were blocking for the guy trying to get the ball, then I'd say yeah, he can legally be dumped on his butt. likewise, if you have a shot at getting the ball, then you can definitely launch yourself at the ball, even if an opposing player is in the way. I still think the refs screwed up.

No one on the team is playing up to their contract except Mike Wallace. Harrison, Timmons, Ben, Troy all have not been playing $10M per year good or $8M per year good or $5M per year good.
And Peon, we are right and you are wrong. If you can't understand the rule or how it has been explained to you, then you're a moron.

Re: New Article: Stillers-Titans Postgame Analysis and Grades
Defeating the Titans was crucial for Pittsburgh's early playoff outlook if we consider that both Houston and Tennessee would hold AFC tie breakers had the Stillers not disposed of the Flaming Thumbtacks last Sunday. We hear it every year --- No team makes the playoffs by winning games early in the season, but they can be missed with a slow start. The world is much better at 3-2 than 2-3.
It was good to see home field advantage be just that, a home field advantage.

Well now fuckface, what's the point of the name calling? Am I against the Steelers on this one? Did I say anyone here was stupid even though I think they might be wrong? If you wanna be a faggot asshole and simply leave it at "I'm right, and you're wrong" well then fine, feel free to not answer any of my fucking questions ever again while not directly quoting anything from a rulebook.
As for now, I am going to personally look this one up, and heaven help you if your snot-shit ass is wrong, 'cause you'll then be a dumbass in addition to a douchebag.
