Our Team is Too Old.................

Postby StillDodger » Sun Sep 11, 2011 3:25 pm

If the Steelers have a fundamental problem, it's holding onto its deadwood.......... Our primary needs, OL and CB, were not addressed......... (The biggest head scratcher of all was retaining Willie Colon, the worst starting OL I've seen in any NFL uniform.) Now it looks like we're too slow and lost some pop on "D"............

And I still think Ben was compromised since the MC accident.............

This team looks as if it didn't know what hit it, in the opener..........

The Ravens are improved, but that team too will realize its lopsided victory was more due more to the Steelers decline than the Ravens improvement. I wouldn't be surprised they let down and lose in Tenn.
Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

You guy are blaming the wrong people on the o-line. Willie Colon was not the problem. It was Doug Legursky (and Hills was released for this guy?) and his buddy Jonathan Scott. They were absolutely abused by Suggs and Ngata. Somewhere Max Starks is laughing munching on his Big Buford.

The defense was just a mess. Smith is looking old as is Keisel. Both were bullied to the ground and backwards all day. Foote is being Foote. McFadden is a lost cause.

I'd be surprised if we made the wildcard in the playoffs... maybe.

Playoffs are not in this team's future. Rebuilding is.

Stillers get younger on offense.

Marcus Gilbert to start at right tackle vs the Seahawks! :subngtowl: :subngtowl:

OK - here is the old fat and slow list

1. Casey hampton - he is now getting pushed out of the middle
2. Aaron Smith - getting flattened every other play - he has gotten fat as well - Aaron - why did you show up out of shape? See ya
3. James farrior - Will he get legs? I dont think so

These three are loved old warriors but their time is over

These next two weeks show us a lot about some of the proven Stillers veterans on defense. Houston utilizes a road grading, zone blocking run scheme. :sufootballhelmet: Hampton, Smith, Farrior and Foote have to be willing to leave it all out on the field...... A couple of impressive performances this week and next have Warren Sapp wishing he could be Ziggy Hood on gameday. :sucope:
