Radio/TV media files

The incredibly small minds that operate the Pittsburgh media outlets have taken full-show podcasts off the table i.e. they are not available for downloads via iTunes, station web sites, etc. This is a change from earlier policy and practice e.g. full Bendel podcasts were available via RSS feed etc. No doubt the media outlets believe that podcasts will harm live, real-time ratings but this has been disproved time and again. In addition, podcast-specific advertisements can be inserted thus preserving or even expanding their revenue stream. Naturally, such forward-looking thinking is rare in old-line media types. 10 minute interview segments are better than nothing but still quite meager especially during the season.
At any rate, I've upgraded some of my 'net recording capability and plan on capturing a radio show or two and wondered what the interest and/or participation level might be here for Steelers-related media such as radio podcasts, TV caps, etc. as a torrent or a direct download using one of those evil, but free, advertising-supported sites.
Along these lines I'm also wondering if anyone is already capping media (such as the Sunday night media roundtable shows) and might make it available.
At any rate, I've upgraded some of my 'net recording capability and plan on capturing a radio show or two and wondered what the interest and/or participation level might be here for Steelers-related media such as radio podcasts, TV caps, etc. as a torrent or a direct download using one of those evil, but free, advertising-supported sites.

Count me in! I especially miss the full length podcasts on the old ESPN FM station.................

Also may try to cap Steelers Radio Network pre/post game and possibly game broadcast although the NFL does it best to squelch 'net feeds of the actual play-by-play.

At the risk of flooding this thread with my own posts, most savvy 'net users know that just about any sort of media is available from various torrent sites, many of them specialized by sport (football, hockey, etc.).
Local radio station audio is much less risky than any sort of game video which, obviously, the NFL attempts to police.

Stan Savran noted during his show today that full podcasts of ESPN 970 shows have not been appearing on their website due to hosting/technical issues.
If and when they are restored these posts may be redundant.

From Bob Smizik's blog: "WTAE is ending its Sunday night 11:30 sports discussion show and going with an hour-long newscast, which will be heavy on sports. This leaves KDKA’s ``Sports Showdown.’’ Sunday at 11:35 p.m., as the only show of this type in the Pittsburgh market."
Shame. Always good to have competition although KDKA'S show predated the WTAE version and probably always had a stronghold on the in-bed-with-the-remote audience.
