Great article PS. That is one thing that always bothers me about the steelers is the fact that a lot of times IT SEEMS that they let teams stick around and stay in the game too long. When you do this against teams that you are better than, in other words, close score late in the fourth quarter, one bastard play or mistake on our part and the other team can luck out a win. Anyone know what I'm trying to say?

This Jets game last night is exactly what I'm talking about. Perfect example. Your beating the shit out of the other team going into half time. 2nd. half comes and your team plays the exact opposite of the way they did in first half. To have your team and your franchise QB look is pathetic
in the second half is embarrassing. I got to blame omar epps. What does he tell everyone at halftime?

Do we NOT run screens, other than that insipid well broadcasted for all-to-see "bubble screen" to wideouts, because our OL is ever changing? Do you have to have adhesive group that plays together consistently on a continual basis to run screens effectively?

This is the only reason I can accept as to why we DON'T run them. These plays are so effective - our D is suspect these type of plays (maybe because they don't see them in practices from our "O"?) - yet all we do is broadcast our rendition by throwing parallel to LOS 50-yds across the field and hope we've fooled someone. When we did runa screen to Heath in Balt game, hell it was set up right in the middle of their rush and their collapsing D near the goal line. Got us a yd or 2!

I have said before, there is ZERO cofidence he will use backs in passing game, ditto for Redman getting 8-10 touches or lead blocking for Mendy, and ditto for Sanders, Wally getting those short, crossing routes (quicklY!) to move chains. Arians can only throw 60-yds at a time and hope for miracles. Geez, the weapons at Ben's disposal and they sit in mothballs.

SCARY THOUGHT: We get to SB, he comes back next yr and we hash this all over again.

WOW!!! This should go for a Pulitzer Prize!!!!! ;) Well written and concise and to the point. Our boys better knock them quick and hard, from the start, and beat them fuckers down for 60 ass fucking minutes from start to finish. I want to see my team In Dallasss in front of Fuckface Jenny Jones, showing "her" just what QUALITY looks like!!!

Good Article.

However, it is amazing how everyone is all geeked about our two young WRs when the biggest difference in this game will be one person:

Heath Miller

Even all of the NFL network guys are talking about Brown and Sanders and the return of Troy Pola, but are completely ignoring the fact that Heath didn't play in the first game either. Troy P is huge and so are the young WRs no doubt. Still:

Heath Miller playing in this game is the biggest potential difference.

Nuff said

I'll take a look at Mill's article - I'm sure he's mentioned it.

PalmerSux asked me to post this on his behalf:

Apparently Revis WILL be covering Ward as I predicted. This off the pro football lawyer-guy gossip site.

great article. One point I might mildly disagree with, if only on a semantic level, is the idea of "forgetting" balance. While I do agree that this game can, and likely will, be won by BR7, I still think that play action is only an effective weapon when there's actually a threat of a run. Someone needs to tell Arians that the Bus retired several years ago, though, and that we are a "pass to establish the run" team now, not the other way around. I would love to see, and was screaming for it last week against the Ratbirds, a four or five wide set from the get-go, a hurry up no huddle offense, hit the ground running (or throwing, as it were) and get an early lead. We all know the Jets are not a play from behind team, especially on the road, especially if we can put some real points up early. The Heinz Field crowd was a huge contributor in last week's comeback, and some early points can get them involved full throat from the opening gun. My prediction: as long as the Jets don't run the opening kick back, we win this one pretty handily.
