Do the Review Rules Need Tweaking?
In the wake of the Rats game, in which after the second review, the Stillers were out of reviews for the game. I think the rules need to be changed somewhat.
I think a team should not be penalized a challenge, if the review successfully reverses the play.
Had the officials, for example, called the first Stiller review play correctly in the first place, we wouldn't have had to waste a challenge there. I don't think that's fair to the team victimized by the missed call.
The rule change? Simple. Allot each team two unsuccessful challenges for the game, and only one in a quarter. So if the Stillers unsuccessfully challenge a play in the first quarter, the next challenge can only occur after the second quarter begins. (Which means no more than one unsuccessful challenge in the fourth quarter.) And no limit to successful challenges.
If a team successfully challenges a call, it won't be docked anything. If anything, there will be incentive not to throw the red flag, except for plays where the coaches are certain the ruling on the field was wrong. (Especially if the team already expended an unsuccessful challenge.) While at the same time, it won't hurt the team if the officials happen to miss a lot of calls against it.

Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

How about penalties for throwing "fake" challenges to get a free stoppage of play?
