Can we be honest here...if we and Balt are so similar?
Can we be honest here...?
Yes, we are thrilled to win. Yes, beating these Ratbirds is delicious, but it doesn't have to be so damn difficult.
1. WHY WAS WARD ON THE SIDLEINES on Mendy's last score? He's only the best damn blocker we have, Mr. Clutch, etc. that can move any of their LB's out of the way. We probably had El in then, right?
2. If our 2 teams are so similar, is it NO COINCIDENCE their screens and outlets to Heap and Rice work? They work BECAUSE OUR "D" NEVER PRACTICES AGAINST THESE PLAYS BECAUSE WE DON'T USE THEM. Follow me. How many times have Rice and Heap killed us (granted we got them under control somewhat) but our D and their D are similar. We hit Mendy for 13 off an outlet, Sanders moves a nice screen, AND THEN WE STOP! WHY BRUCE, YOU ASS? If it works against OUR D, good chance it will work against theirs. This guy is infuriating and he is our biggest impediment.
3. WHERE IS THE DISCIPLINE (either in the huddle or on the sideline) to let THOSE guys do the jawing and have someone on our side pull our guys away. It only frustrates THEM more when you DON'T respond. Ike's helmet hit on Housh - stupid and should have been called, KEMO'S ASSAHOLIC DIVE - THIS GUY HAS ISSUES. Special Teams - Lewis' assaholic push - where is the coaching telling these guys to control themselves at these times.
4. You are taught in Pop Warner that EVERY BALL IS A LIVE BALL UNTIL THE REFS TELL YOU NO. Foster looks at the damn rock like it's nuclear or something. Sorry, NO EXCUSE for this at this level. (See Pouncey follow Mendy when he ran to EZ even tho play was dead.
5. Punt returns: Inside the 20 - 1st guy goes past the return man in case of opp to down the ball. 2nd guy goes to face of returner, there is plenty of field left for 3rd guy and others to track returner down. IF Returner is set up Mid-field to 20 yd line, 1st guy goes to face of returner to make contact in case of return and 2nd guy heads to back in case put goes over his head to follow the ball. HOW HARD IS THIS? Geez, it does not have to be this hard. Maybe we might even kick to sidelines but no, can't have that- the sidelines are your friend.
6. Ward not in game plans? Are you kidding me? No touch until 3rd qtr? Miller - no touches until well into 2nd? Redman converts (as he always seems to) a 3rd down, then he sits on the bench? DOES MT GET INVOLVED IN ANY OF THIS??
Help me out here. Is this asking too much? Where is "O" leader and "D" leader to corral this nonesense stuff and pull these guys aside that will cost us a ballgame - LIKE KEMO DAMN NEAR DID?
Help me here

fORGOT TO ADD:
THANK GOD Cameron is as dumb as Arians in play calling.
We sent Mendy up the middle so many times, Arians must have thought he was Moses and the middle part. Yeah, that worked, Bruce. ALMOST AS MUCH as them sending Rice to Big Snack. Yet his outlets were working (take away Rice's fumble and they were beginning to move, maybe. Obviously, we made adjustments at half - finally, but nonetheless, their play calling sucked as much as Arians, thankfully.

Want some help? Realize that these are football players and not machines. They (including coaching) make mistakes just like you and me. They have emotions, just like you and me.
Come to the understanding that hindsight is always 20/20, a win is a win is a win, and sometimes it's best not to get so worked up about things you cannot control in life.
As for KEMO, umm yeah wasn't that ward walking step for step with him back to the sideline after the play?
As for the D, I don't have any problems with what they were doing yesterday. They completely got in the heads of the receivers, held them to 123 yards, and completely rattled joe flacco.

Thank you on the Ward- Kemo. Did not see that. A TV shot? That's what I'm talking about.
Good to see and who better.
Most of my stuff are thoughts for after game and play calling review (20/20 hindsight for learning.)
We just don't seem to learn from opps as they are presented from previous games.
Bottom line, looking for critical thought / critique post games. This is where advancing your progress can be beneficial.
I get it on the emotions, totally, it's just that we need to keep this stuff in check and keep a prespective / guard on hand for that purpose.

Also Ward got Reeds head out of the game early.

Where on the field was this Ward pic taken? If this wasn't on the sidelines, he could have been flagged another unsportsmanlike for taking his helmet off..............
Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

Ward isn't a focal part of the gameplan because he's not very effective anymore. He's too damn old and slow. What you're seeing a phasing out of Ward and the emergence of Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown.

Not buyin' the claim he's NOT effective. Ben is not even looking for him. Just like Miller hasn't been seeing the ball until well into 2nd qtrs of games. Ward gets open still and his slant for a TD was vintage. He is too critical for blocking, smarts and he draws coverage. Yes, Sanders and Brown ermergence is great to see - getting the PT they need. But in goal line situations, who better for extra blocks, finding a hole to throw to, etc. than Ward. Why he was on the side for Mendy's secong TD (when Kemo blew up) I will never understand. Name a better blocker on this offense. I am still so biased against Arians that I blame him. I wonder if MT asked him about this as well but I am just a passionate fan watching from afar.
IF we get to SB, guess who'll be back and who we'll be screaming the same stuff about?????????????????
This, my fellow fans, is a conumdrum of epic proportions!

Re: Can we be honest here...if we and Balt are so similar?
I havent seen the video, but, off the top of my head all three goalline plays (after the Balt penalty gave us 1st and G from the 2) were in the jumbo package. Yes, Hines Ward is brilliant in blocking down the field on DBs and safeties in run and pass plays, but on the goalline, Legursky (who was in as an "eligible" receiver on the end of the line) is a far more formidable blocker against a DLineman or linebacker. Just my opinion, and based on memory from last week. I could be wrong on all of the above.
