J.J. Watt or Heyward to replace Aaron Smith???

Postby DL&V » Fri Jan 07, 2011 6:25 pm

Watt from Wisconsin comes in at 6'6" 290lbs........have not seen him play much.......seems like a real tired hard guy like A. Smith.

Heyward from Ohio St. comes in at 6'5" 290lbs.........have not been over excited with his play but he looked damn good in the Sugar bowl.

I think D-line is more of a priority over O-line. The o-line has made do with no name guys for the last few years. The d-line needs some serious help replacing Smith and Hampton.

Could not disagree more. Ziggy has improved with each game played this year. Yeah, we need depth but a solid DE can be had in the later rounds, especially considering their role in Lebeau's defense. The LB core is the key to the Steeler's defensive line play while the DE's and NT are mostly tasked with clogging up the middle. Another stud O-lineman or two like Pouncey's brother could push this offense over the top. IMO, the Cheatriots' success can be mostly attributed to their O-line. While Brady is solid, he would look a lot like Kerry Collins behind our line. Imagine what Ben could do with the time Brady is given. If we draft defense early it needs to be a CB or free safety because Clark and Fad have proven to be a huge liability.

pounceys brother is a beast he is worth the first round pick due to the fact he can play anywhere on the line and more then likly will start in his first year. i think that we can get one more good year outa smith and with ziggy starting to play the way he has the dline isnt a major problem. we need a kicker that can kick a touchback regularly and hits the clutch kicks. another thing that we need to think of is the CBA this could change the whole face of the draft

I'm not sure either Pouncey #2 nor Heyward will be around at #32
