NEW GAME PLAN
I will be an optimist in this post. On that note, it seems that we learnd several things in the NE game. First, it looks like we learned that Randel El is too old and ineffective so we need to get the young guys, Sanders and Brown, ready to play. This is a good idea if they are thinking it. Both of those guys are threats and our season may hinge on what kind of impact they can make. We need a few more playmakers.
Second, it seems we learned that the soft cover D will not work. Let's at least hope we learned that. We came with more blitzes yesterday and seemed to play some tighter coverage. Again, let's at least hope we learned this.
Third, with the exception of kicker, our special teams are solid so that is a nice situation.
Fourth, we learned a gadget play every so often is not a bad thing. Good stuff.
Fifth, we learned we can still stop the run with backup DL and still move the ball with patchwork OL. It is hard to tell who will line up next week on the OL but it is good to see some movement.
The Buffalo game will be key. They can throw all over so they are a tougher match for us. We will see much more where we are next week. Let's hope we are on the right road. Still a long way to go.

Re: NEW GAME PLAN
Operative words "seemed like we learned a few things":
You must assume they look at the film critically and not in "awesome wonder".
Said for years, why not play these guys a few series every damn game and lets see what we have to work with when playoff time comes. Think they'll sit El? Don't bet on it. Think we'll see Worilds, Dwyer, Lewis? Forget that. Remember how Sweed wasn't ready for prime-time since he had no real game exp. when playoffs came. We will NEVER learn that lesson.
Did not get the game down here in SC and followed on NFL website - justin tv just didn't link up right - and looked like penalty on every play. Mill's assessments makes me cringe. Ben STILL holding the damn ball and gets sacked? WTF is coaching for? Seppy STILL punts 1 into endzone? Gimme a damn break. AND They damn well better send a game tape to Gooddell for this officiating nightmare.
Ike's pic-6 and Jamie gets called for tackling a QB? Full body weight? What, he now has to play with "HALF HIS WEIGHT TIED BEHIND HIS BACK?" MT better demand answers. He also better get a handle on using Sanders and Brown and pulling his starters when game is in control; althought, it seems we're NEVER out of the woods.
Gee, Dick, just like some pressure helps out the DB's some in coverage, maybe, just maybe, we'll try it again. Don't bet the rent money on that one. We'll need homefield advantage to get anywhere in playoffs and we better start with this game as an example. Although, it was Jason Campbell we harrassed. Let's get some perspective here. Maybe at 28-3 we could have put some other guys in for some PT? Just a thought.

Re: NEW GAME PLAN
I'm outraged and sick to my stomach over the officiating not only during the Steeler game but also at other bullshit fines and calls across the league. The game is being ruined. The Rooneys will not allow Tomlin to hold his OC and DC accountable for anything. They let Cowher control his own staff for 15 years and treated him like a bronze god before he ever won his one superbowl, so why not let the head coach coach?!
