If Reed wanted out then good riddance. If not, then it may be a mistake. Shaun Suisham is a career 79.1% field goal success (in conditions better than Heinz field). I don't expect he is our long term solution.

What's wrong with the Steelers right now goes far beyond their inability to kick field goals.

Reed was cut not only for his kicking but for running his mouth about how bad the turf is at Heinz.Rooney didn't like to hear that, but Reed told the truth. However Reed made some foolish comments about how tough the fans are and how they expect him to be perfect.Awww boo hoo Jeff maybe you should try some place with forgiving compassionate fans like Philly.

Another thing----I'm not sure how the waiver process works but if New England gets a chance to sign Reed they would considering they have Shayne Graham

I don't like this move. It looks like trying to find a solution for a huge problem in one convenient place.

Maybe not the solution to all our huge problems but we can replace Gay with Butler or Lewis; maybe we can change some defensive philosophy or use the last remaining o-lineman another way - but we have no one to replace Reed without cutting him.
