What kind of idiot...
...calls a QB keeper on 3rd and short to win the game? When said QB is your slowest back? When said QB is your franchise player that you've been awaiting to return so you could contend? I mean, it's one thing if your QB is a Vick type, or I could see a rollout where the QB keeps it if the defense plays back and he has the option to run it, but a straight up fake drop-back keeper? Gimme a break, what is this pop warner? Could you see such a play ever being called for Brady, Manning, or Brees? It reminds me of the "Arians Abortion"

I'm pretty sure it was a pass play, and that Ben just saw an opening and took off with it. Had he made it another 6 inches and held on to it you would be completely silent concerning any criticisms.
Re: What kind of idiot...
There was no need to Ben to slide!!!!! He could have went in standing up, he weighs 245
Re: What kind of idiot...
No way was that Ben improvising...it was some kind of perverted quarterback draw/keeper. Let's say he did score a touchdown, and got hurt on the play and out a few games. Would it be worth it? NFW.

It was a great call - that was centimeters short of a touchdown not because he didn't get there but because of a fumble. Roeth. hangs on - TD - and steelers cover. Probably should have been scored as a TD since Ben was one of the two people with his hands on the ball in the endzone.

I would bet it was a pre-snap read. If Ben sees a gap, he runs it. If he doesnt, there's probably a few hot reads he could have gone with.

I'll bet you're wrong. Notice the blocking...it was a QB draw all the way.

This Arians idiot has got to go. What kind of an asinine call was this? When I saw Ben go back into the shotgun I couldn't believe it (once again!). You need 3 points to win the game. Why take a chance on a pass that could be deflected and intercepted as we have seen so many times? Secondly, if it is the QB draw why risk getting your franchise player injured? Just so happens Ben stated after the game that his arm did go numb from the hit! How lucky are we?
I would have opted for another run from Redman. He has proven he can get the job done on short yardage. Why isn't he being utilized? Not to mention, keeping the ball on the ground in that situation keeps the O-line in a rhythm. My guess is Redman would have made it. If he doesn't... we kick the field goal.

Actually, if you watched the Fins/Packers game the previous week, it was a brilliant call. Rodgers was in the same position and ran in, untouched, for a TD. Arians (for once) did his homeworks.

So, the Fins saw the same play the week before? Maybe that's why they were ready for it this time. I'd say it was a brilliant call for the Packers, but second time around, a week later, it's an idiot call.
