F.O. ranks Pittsburgh 'D' #1 overall.
The football outsiders came out with their updated (D)VOA rankings after the 2nd week of football ranking the Steel City #1 in the defense. There is no surprise here....the offense is ranked 27th, again, no surprise here as we all probably felt the same way.

What is surprising is where the special teams rank.....4th! What a huge turnaround from last year and unequivicably a huge factor determining our success in winning the close games! I'm sure we could have been higher if not for that botched on sides kick.
I was also surprised to see talk of Super Bowl contention from Fox Sports Adam Kaplan, ranking the Steelers 2nd behind the New Orleans Saints...and he hit the nail on the head

I wasn't expecting to hear/see such positiveness this early in the season.

"Once they get starting QB Ben Roethlisberger back from his four-game suspension, the Steelers could very well be the AFC's best team. It's amazing how getting DE Aaron Smith and SS Troy Polamalu back healthy can seemingly make their defense dominant once again"
