Thoughts on Steelers Preseason Final vs. Panthers

Postby thesteelhammer » Fri Sep 03, 2010 12:10 am

Without Lefty, the Steelers might not win a game until Ben returns.

Pouncey is for real. Starks is a starting level OT, but should be on the right side. No other O-lineman we have should really be a starter, and the back ups have no business being called pros.

Timmons looked good at OLB. MIght be his natural position. is definately The top option if anything happens to Woodley or Harrison.

Allen is the 3rd safety. He can play both safety positions.

Lewis hasn't showwn me much as a starting CB, but he is a beast on special teams.

Going to be a long season.

Maybe it's just me, but I thought Tony Hills looked great at LT all preseason long.

Interesting you say Pouncey is for real in his worst game of the preseason.

I think you are a little harsh on Dixon and I'm by all means not a fan. I've stated over and over that he had a pisspoor game against the Ravens last year when people apparently were watching something on the lines of a Peyton Manning highlight reel on Monday Night. However, if Dixon is allowed to use his mobility, he can definitely win a game against Tampa and Tennessee. The Bucs are self explanatory and the Titans basically have the same QB as we do. We'll probably give up the season opener but you can't win them all. It's all dependent on our D and Dixon managing the game as opposed to trying to win it. I hope the kid won't repeat what he did against Denver in any point of the next 3-4.

As for Timmons, I starting to believe he's the best LBer on our team. He's playing at a pro bowl level already. I highly recommend you guys checking out this video on PGH of Timmons blowing up the run, blitzing, and in pass coverage

Butler looked good, ferocious hitter, pity he blotted his copybook with the, . . I've broken up the pass woot :celebrate: woot, . . . ooops no I haven't  he caught it play!

He's made my 53.

I'm assuming our two starting OLB's are just going through the motions at this point, . . Wood looked like a right lame duck on one run play where he just flapped his hands at the RB as oppose to actually tackling him? :suxfingers:

I only listened to the radio broadcast last night, but I seemed to hear Stevenson Sylvester's name a lot. Including him would probably drop Gibson, Worilds (I doubt he would be cut), or Bailey (who was also heralded by Tunch).

Thanks for the video link No Gravity

Both Bailey and Sylvester played well last night, . . .

The only Foote play I remember was him tackling, then untackling a back in the backfield, had him for a loss then slipped off him.

Foote meet boot :sushootem: , surprise cut, doubt it, but I would :suxfingers:
