Willie Parker might not make Skins roster

Postby thesteelhammer » Thu Aug 26, 2010 10:01 pm

Washington Redskins RB Willie Parker will be given extended action Friday, Aug. 27, and a good performance could help him pass RB Larry Johnson on the team's depth chart, reports Rich Tandler, of CSNWashington.com. According to Tandler, If Parker fails to impress, he will be on the bubble for even making the team's final roster. Not only does he have to impress running the ball, but he also has to impress with his pass protection where Head coach Mike Shanahan said Parker knows he needs to improve.

Yeah Parker looks absolutely terrible and I'm loving it. Here in Virginia, they cover the Skins locally and they had a little interview with him during OTAs where all he kept talking about was how many Pro Bowls both he and LJ made together. He just came off as very full of himself. Now he can't even win the #3 job from Ryan Torain.

I'm not going to eat his lunch for some bragadoccio. He burned bright in his prime but it's definitely over :(

Yeah FWP is done. It was a nice run. Hope they don't entertain bringing him back - I think he injured half of our O-lineman running up their backs!!

Haha! Right on! I do think, while he's no hall of famer, he should join the beloved Steelers in the Great Mall though. He came through big for us when we needed someone to more than once.

The man was leading the league in rushing when he broke his leg, and was never the same after that. We should forgive him for his apparent difficulties in dealing with the fact that he just doesn't have it anymore. He left us with a lot of good memories and we should wish him well.

Anyone catch Sports Center the other night by any chance? They were interviewing Washington's players about the concerns of McNabb's injury. Willie came on and it said underneath him "WR Santana Moss." I actually felt bad for Willie right then and there because he is basically a nobody in Washington, even ESPN doesn't recognize his mug.

I have always been a Willie Parker fan but, he did this to himself. He didn't want to be a backup here but ran to the skins as a backup. A soon to be unemployed backup at that.
