Is Flozell an upgrade

Postby thesteelhammer » Thu Aug 12, 2010 8:57 pm

Injuries finally forced the Steelers to sign some O-linemen.
Are the additions upgrades over the guys who were injured?

Adams is a potential upgrade, but I wonder how much he really wants to play. If he's lazy out there like he looked sometimes last year in Dallas then it's probably a wash.

I've always worried about vets ending their careers in journeyman fashion. They're less hungry, more interested in getting a paycheck and avoiding injury.

I was rather unimpressed with Adams performance against the Lions. I am hoping this is pre-season form and he is not already peaking. If that is all he has to give, we are in for a very long season.

Agreed. In his prime, he was a damn good tackle. Now, he's basically a step sideways from Colon. He can still run block, but is going to get eaten alive by speed rushers all season long. That's exactly why we need Dixon in at QB. We need someone capable of running for his life.
