Back in 2004, James Harrison had finally found a place in the Steeler's roster as a bench player journey man who had been cut 3 times.


Yet once Haggans went down with injury in late 2004, there was a brief period of time when Joey Porter lined up with James Harrison.

And even as a backup with his handfull of oppurtunities as a starter, he outperformed his counterpart.


This video is for all the people who observed and campaigned for Harrison as a starter way back when.

James Harrison collected 6 tackles, all solos. Not only that, but if u see in the video, he forced a turnover on Boller and on the very last play in the 4th quarter, he hurdles over a blocker to bat down a pass.



People say that Harrison was a player whose skills were developed over time by Lebeau's system.


I think that's completely bullshit. Harrison has always been a damn good linebacker, straight out of college, he had the ferocity and physical capabilities to dominate an offense.

And this video is solid evidence of that.

Not to worry, Farrior is signed up untill his Social Security benefits kick in. Along with half the other guys 35 and over on "D".

Harrison is an awesome football player. He's the kind of guy who doesn't get drafted because his measurements and workout #'s don't scream NFL player. I challenge anyone to find a better OLB though.

Harrison's shortcomings had much more to do with his mental shortcomings than his physical shortcomings. Harrison himself admitted that he had trouble learning the play book.

Harrison's always been a good Linebacker in my view. Back in 2003, he played mop up in the Pre Season games. You could see he was better than the rest of the mop up guys because he was in on almost every tackle during those games... He got very few opportunites to start til 2007. When Haggans began to trail off in 2006, they could've inserted Harrison, and the D would've played much better. Yes he's flourished in LeBeaus' system, but you could see he had the ferocious type of play at LB that we've come to expect in a Steelers LB long before LeBeau returned as Defensive Coordinator...

As for Fox getting more time in Farriors' spot... Good luck with that... Farrior will be a starter til he's 105 in this system...
