Which Playmaker: Tate (WR) or Spiller (RB)?

Postby DL&V » Sun Feb 28, 2010 6:23 pm

I see all kinds of mock drafts with the Steelers taking a OG or OT, but as a seasoned fan I know they love the slugs they have and will not draft any OL position in rd 1.

I'd love MLB - McClain from Alabama but I believe he'll be a Bronco or Giant.

So, which playmaker will "Run and Shoot" B.A. get Colbert to pick:

Golden Tate - WR, 5'10" 200, 4.45

or

C.J. Spiller - RB, 5'10" 200, 4.35

Tate for so many different reasons. Spiller will not fall out of the top 20, and the Steelers will not use another 1st round pick to grab a RB.

Tate reminds me so much of Hines in his prime. Love the guy. Somewhat short and slower than most elite WRs, but sure hands and physical.

Where is Tate expected to go in The Draft? Will he even be around if for The Steelers to select him, and/or will they select high in The Draft for another WR?

Tate busted a 4.37 at the combine today. Is that slow?

Tate is going to go late first round or early 2nd.

And not at all. He was the 4th fastest WR at the combine. Here is a list of the top 40 times per position.

My gawd why would the Stillers consider going this high on a RB or WR?

I don't care if either Spiller or Tate slipped to them, the Stillers' RB & WR corps are A LOT deeper than CB, S, DL, or OL. I think they'd be better served in drafting a TE to take over for that stink-bomb Spaeth rather than a diminutive RB or WR!!!
