Woodley should just worry about Miami!

Postby lambert58 » Thu Dec 31, 2009 10:40 am

Anybody else believe that Woodleys quote in the post about the Bungles, and Cheatriots laying down this weekend is a little out of line. I believe he should be more interested in beating the fins first.
Or looking at back tapes of their fourth quarter collapses all season,Beat : pick one, Bengals, Browns, Raider, Chiefs, and he has nothing to worry about.
Then again, maybe its a Jedi mind trick to get these teams fired up enough to want to play us if we get in. NAH ! Don't think so.

i BELIEVE IT IS TRUE THAT THE PATS AND CHEATRIOTS WILL LAY DOWN. i ALSO REMEMBER US LAYING DOWN IN 2004. Sorry about the caps, didn't know they were on. When we laid down, we barely got by the jets in the divisional round, we had a bye 15-1 season) think it was a field goal win and ugly as heck. Then the cheatriots killed us. Bottom line, they will lay down and if we didn't want to depend on other teams then, we should have beat the stains, raiders or KC. We should have beat all three anyhow, if so Cincy would be a wild card.

Yes. The sad truth of this season is that even having been swept by the bungles, we could have easily won the AFC North just by beating the bottom-feeders. To me, Tomlin is at least partially responsible for allowing the players to slack off mentally. It's not clear to me what exactly Tomlin's role is with this team. He doesn't really seem to be involved in an overall game plan, play calling, lineup changes at all. He comes up with clever quotes such as 'unleash hell in December', etc. But then comes out and lays an egg against the Raiders and Browns. I want to like Tomlin as a head coach, but he needs to assert a stronger role over his coordinators and worry less about looking cool on the sidelines. The players are responsible for losing focus (to which Starks, Colon, et al have readily admitted) and allowing themselves to be 8-7 and pretty much done, barring a miracle.

At this point I have absolutely no problem with the Woodman's bulletin board material. If there was any possible way to taint the Gaytriots and Bungals that was it. Now if they lose it introduces precedent that they are afraid of the Stillers.

Now will the Bungs and the Gays bite? Doubt it. But it was worth a shot and someone had to take it

Thanks to the Woodman for trying!

He can say what ever he wants. He's one of the few that busted his ass all year. If it had been, say, Ike or Gay, that's another story.

He should pay attention to what he can control, his prep for the game, and playing hard. The fact he's worried about scenarios other than smacking around Henne, means he's overlooking the Dolphins. If we lose, none of the scenarios, or what the Patsies, or the Bungles do will matter anyway.

I like the comment. Call them AND ALL OF NFL on it. See if any announcers take the bait as these games wear on and it looks like they will lose on purpose. Makes ALL of NFL look rigged.

Caldwell's move was absolutely the dumbest thing I have ever seen in sports. You don't think those guys who worked their asses off for him, only to see HIM take away their shot at glory, didn't have some thoughts about it? 3 weeks is eternity in NFL (weeks 15 -loss, 16, then their bye). Say what you want, they know taking the field for week 16 won't matter what they do, since THEIR SEASON WAS ALREADY RUINED at week 15 and not by anything they did but BY THEIR OWN COACH. I say here that they don't make it to SB.

How many times do you get a shot to go undefeated and be the team that everyone points to when training camp starts? 'Fins of '72 remain the standard, even tho Pats won more yet lost SB. THEY don't even get an asterisk! Colts had it to go 19-0 and an idiot coach took it away. I believe they're done.

Off topic slightly here but still on Woodley

Anyone here notice that he looks as if he lost some real weight during the course of the season? Sure looks like he has dropped 15 lbs to me. That would support the notion that his "speed rush" has improved

Well put! National "Fixed" League would do well to "monitor" this activity. Love to see the Dolts pasted at home in 1st playoff game!

He does look like he dropped a bit of weight. It has helped him out alot in his speed rush. All he did in the first half of the year was titty joust, and jog around.

I would too. I'd also like to seee Harrison plant Henne 3 times, us force a couple Turnovers, and score a couple Defensive TDs. Woodley has definitely picked up his production since Week 7.

Woodley dropped Henne 4 times, 2 for sacks. Not bad. We can T Off on their QB all game.

As for Ziggy, if this is the last game of the season, I'd start Ziggy instead of Dick Eason. It's obvious we get a bit better pass rush with Hood out there.
