So obviously Tomlin is trying to lose...
and Mike Wallace just ruined it for them! I know some of you pipe dreamers are going to make some lame a$$ excuse for the onside kick (I can't wait for those retards to chime in), but that was obviously Tomlin throwing the game on purpose. Lastly, please take #23 off the field for good, he was chumptastic today.

With our defense, I don't think it would be irrational to onside kick 5 times a game. I liked the call, if our defense isn't going to make something happen somebody has to try to.

That onside kick is what allowed us enough time to get the win. Think about it. Our D wasn't stopping anyone. Because GB was closer due to the kick, they scored quicker and we had time to go down and score our TD.
Even if we didn't win, I liked the call. Give our O a chance to ice the game.
The one announcer said that it seemed Tomlin wasn't sending a message of confidence to LeBeau. Of course we have no confidence in our D- why would we this year??!

Re: So obviously Tomlin is trying to lose...
Was I being called a retard? Seriously? I'm sorry, but my reasoning is sound- with our history of choking games away, we would have given up a score to GB anyway. The only question was how much time we'd have left to get a score of our own. How many games have we lost this year after being tied and/or giving up a lead???
I'm not saying Tomlin's a genius. I'm just pointing out that because the onside kick happened, we ended up with enough time to win the game. I don't blame him for wanting to change up the way we've been losing.

Re: So obviously Tomlin is trying to lose...
I loved the call, obviously not the execution. 1. We kick off they most likely drive down, milk the clock, and win on a field goal. 2. We fail. We try to hold them to a long field goal attempt, but if not give them the TD to give Ben a chance. 3. You would have to be absolutely crazy to kick an onside kick in that situation which gave us the very key factor in this decision. The element of surprise. I found myself comparing it to the Belichick call on 4th and 2 vs the Colts. At first I thought, wow why do I think the onside was a good call opposed to the one Bill made? I must be a homer. Then I realized it was the surprise element which made me like this decision, along with the other factors I mentioned, rather then me just having a biased opinion.

Post game locker room interview Justin Earwig said the rumor floated all down the sidelines. The rationale was if we get the Onsides - great - if we dont - they score quickly and Ben gets the ball back with time to spare

cabbage -you the chief retard?
One thing is for sure. Wallace doesn't catch the TD and Tomlin's head is on the chopping block. Maybe that was the hell Tomlin promised to unleash?

Tomlin can't say it but he obviously had no faith in the d stopping GB for good reason. and he figured either they get the OSK and ice it, or get the ball back with enough time to score. It's pretty obvious really. Shockingly it actually worked.

I didn't exaclty like the call but, I will remind you all of the "brilliant" onside kicks of yesteryear. The Ol' get it yourself routine from kicker Norm Johnson, designed by Bobby April, and Billy Cowher. It was retrieved often and done when they LEAST expected it.

Plus it would have WORKED was Ike Taylor not an idiot! Let it go 10 yards!
Re: So obviously Tomlin is trying to lose...
i liked the call! when you consider these circumstances...
1-Jeff Reed was only kicking to the 20-25 yard line!
2- we got the worst special teams in the league to stop a return!
3- our defense was playing pathetic and couldnt stop anything!
4-it was a good surprise play, if it Ike Taylor could count 10 yards!
5- it did give Ben 2 minutes to pull off his magic act!
