If you were GM for a day, would you trade...
Ben for Aaron Rogers?
Ben for Tony Romo?
Ben for Jay Cutler?
Hines for TO?
Holmes for a top ten draft pick?
Harrison for Patrick Willis?
Of the above, I like the last two the best. Imagine if we could parlay Holmes into Eric Berry and pick up Willis for Harrison. We could then move Timmons to the outside. If our own pick is low enough, we could possibly pick up Haden. Imagine that, Berry, Willis and Haden for Holmes and Harrison.

None of the above.
I would trade one of our running backs though.

I'd trade Dixon and Sweed for a 1st round draft pick.

So you would trade the only receiver we have that can get open on a regular basis?
And Timmons does not have the skillset to play OLB.

I brought up Holmes because, as I understand it, he's going to be a free agent. If a franchise tag and trade is an option, why would you not do it? Doesn't sound too "moronic" to me. You know he's not going to be re-signed, especially after all the contract extensions. We'd still have plenty of weapons on offense; even a mediocre OC could put up plenty of points. Its our defense that its dire need of playmakers, particularly in the defensive backfield.

What's with all the hostility around here? Might as well face it, Holmes is a gonner. You're smoking crack if you think otherwise.

Troll...hardly. I've been watching the Stillers feverishly since Super Bowl XIV. Perhaps you should go back to your Obama worshiping pathetic life until you get a grip on reality.

Ben for Jay Cutler? Ben for anyone seems silly. With so many 30+ older veterans up for negs, and with the Steeler's history of contract management, I don't see any reason why Holmes won't get his money. He's young, if he keeps working hard and paying attention to details he'll be a super star. Besides: Ward will retire soon. Why in the hell would we get rid of Holmes considering that fact? Then we would have Wallace and who else? No, Holmes stays for sure.

Steelthatdontrust, thanks for an actual comment on the post and not a personal attack. For the record, I don't endorse any of the "trade Ben" options, I mentioned it because I've read and heard so much negativity about Ben recently I thought I would poll the nation as to they think could do better; leaving out the obvious choices like Brady, Manning and Brees. As for Holmes, I love the guy but I honestly don't feel the Steelers will re-sign him. It would be out of character for them to do so and they probably won't have the cap space. Why not do what other teams have done in the past and franchise the guy and get something in return like New England did with David Patten. With that in mind, I was curious to see who out there would take a top 10 pick for him.
