Re: Arians to be fired?! Is it possibly true?!
The firing of Arians and the ST coach is a start, but I now have a doubt about the top of the organization.......
Take the Cleveland Browns........ They change coaches, draft decent players, yet they can never win. They just don't have the passion, motivated by an organization committed to winning, and only winning.
I think what has always separated the Steelers from most of the NFL is the organization had a total commitment to winning, void of any front office distractions that can kill such focus. (Player distractions are unavoidable, and occur with all teams.) But with the political sideshows the front office exhibited after this past Super Bowl, it was a striking change from the past, the distractions are now in place, and the total focus and commitment to winning is no longer there.
And because of that, after a loss or two, the urgency is no longer there, and the individual disgust for defeat isn't quite the same.
Last season, I thought firing Arians and the ST coach alone would solve our problem........ But now, I think the Rooneys have got to go. For the name has been forever stained, in my humble opinion.

You're blaming the meltdown on the ownership? Have you watched the Steelers play lately?

The owners????? Yeah I think I saw the Rooneys missing tackles on the field and implementing bad philosophy from the sidelines. Give me ONE example of a more stable and consistent ownership party in ALL of pro sports and I might take the time to listen to this drivel....
On a side note, the news is beginning to filter thru the official media channels. Changes are on the way, count on it...

This has got to be one of the single most retarded things ever put to words.

The real question is....should Arians actually be fired, what will you change your avatar to? My suggestion: FireFarrior, or Will.I.Am. Gay.

If true, where do you go to find the upgrade? Thoughts? Who's out there?

Here’s an interesting article about potential OCs to replace Bunghole Arians and commentary on why he absolutely sucks: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/295415-potential-replacements-at-offensive-coordinator-for-steelers
I definitely don’t agree with some of it but it’s interesting nonetheless.
Re: Arians to be fired?! Is it possibly true?!
Here are my 2 favorite potential OCs:
Mike Shanahan:
Pros:
1. He’s smart and can be an innovative and creative play caller. Knows how to exploit opposing offenses.
2. Elway and Big Ben seem to be cut from the same cloth as QBs so I think he would know how to utilize Ben's strengths and coach his weaknesses.
3. He knows how to run the ball effectively and likes to utilize 2 RBs. Which I think could work well with Parker and Mendenhall and keep both from being injured so much.
Cons:
1. Most likely, he won’t be willing to settle for an OC position after being the big cheese in Denver and winning 2 SBs.
2. He can be stubborn and will sometimes commit to schemes that just aren’t working.
Charlie Weis:
Pros:
1. He is also smart and innovative. Knows how to exploit opposing defenses and will continue to do it until they come up with an answer.
2. Knows how to coach QBs and utilize the talents of players on the roster.
3. Excellent at creating strong game plans and developing an offensive system that players buy into.
Cons:
1. He’s kind of a d-bag in the Belichick tradition.
2. Whether he can develop talent (or depends solely on big stars to make him look good) remains to be seen after the Notre Dame debacle.
