9-7

Postby madmoney125 » Mon Dec 14, 2009 12:36 pm

9-7 is going to get a playoff spot this year in the AFC. Not saying I have any hope of us getting to that record, just thought I'd throw it out there.

When you lose to Oakland, Kansas City and Cleveland you dont deserve the playoffs.

Or when you lose to the Browns and the Bungles twice.
Even if we did make the playoffs, we'll never get anywhere playing like we are although we may have Troy back by then. This team works together as well as politicians and people do right now.

I posted this in my own thread but will post it here also.

1) we win out and go 9-7 (possible)
2) Denver gets the other playoff spot since they play KC and Oakland
3) Houston losses 1 (NE) (probable)
4) Tenn losses 1 (Charges) (probable)
5) Jacksonville losses 2 (Colts and NE) (probable)
6) Jets losses 2 (Colts and Bengals) (probable)
7) Miami losses 2 (us and to Tenn) (possible)
8) Balt losses 2 (us and Bears) (possible)

This is a very believable scenario here. Some may say that us winning the last three is a "reach" but we almost beat the Ravens with our 3rd string QB, Miami is run first team and with that being the last game of the season I see our D buckling down (even though they havent suceeded in doing so all year) and the game against Gb will be a high scoring afair because both our D's are suspect. With that said we have a punchers chance and I'm backing them. I will never give up hope.

Except, we have no punch. The defense looks like a bunch of Zhu Zhu pets out there. Each win puts us further down the draft board. Also, I prefer to not go to the playoffs vs. going there and taking a dump.

I cannot speak for others here, but after losing to the Chefs, Faders, and Clowns (and with Arians, putrid DBs, punch-drunk Ben, and broken kick coverage team), I'd be **stunned** if we win one more game this season, let alone all three.
Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

Ravens lose to the Bears ??? Are you on crack ? The Ravens have the 3rd best home record in the NFL since 2000. The bears are awful. Cutler is awful. Plus the Ravens unlike your sorry team does not lose to bad teams. You lost to Kc, Oak and the Browns and you really think you can beat Gb, the mighty Ravens and Miami all in a row ?? Stop embarrasing yourself son.

6-10 would be better to get ourselves to a better draft pick.

Well depending how the early games go, Jacksonville Thursday, along with other teams ahead of us playing at 1. We'll have a better idea of how "realistic" our chances to make the playoffs are if we run the table. Obviously it isn't realistic we'll make it no matter what everyone does with the way we've been playing. But maybe, just maybe, if a few things fall right before the game, this group will get pumped up and show a little pride at home. Nothing we've seen gives us any reason to expect that, but again I guess I'm just an optimist.

I also agree with both these points, but I won't be routing for us to lose this weekend especially if things go well before the game.

It's endless. Look, your zeal is admireable, but it's really not wholesome at this point. I will admit though. If the Steelers make it in, it will be the miracle of the decade

It wasn't zeal, just saying its technically possible. Seeing how we lost to the only 3 teams eliminated from the playoffs in the AFC I'd say we're next.

If you think the Ravens are just going to walk over the Bears because they blew out the Lions.... think again. Your team is having just as many issues as our team is. Your secondary is very suspect... and why the hell are you on a Steelers forum anyway? Not enough people roaming the Ravens boards?

If the Steelers make it, the Road Warriors run of '05 will look like a cakewalk. Personally I'm in the "lose out for the draft pick" crowd. I don't want 'em to throw it, but I don't see the point of suddenly getting the fire back to still sit at home.

I think there's a better chance that Denver loses 2 than that Baltimore does.

That said, the chances of the Steelers winning out, based upon their performance this season,
are far less than EITHER of those teams losing 2, IMO.

Mighty Ravens? Uh, what's mighty about 7-6? I'll tell you. Nothing.
