if we're going to count the times Ben costs the O-line a sack stat, then in all fairness we should count the times he saves the o-line from a sack stat.

Not Ben's fault.
O-line's job to block.

wow... yes...

i would be willing to bet it's at least 1:1 for ben sacks and avoided o-line sacks.

lake, would you have time to re-watch all the steelers games? ;)

I'll do that on Thanksgiving for you guys, instead of watching the Lions play on National TV.

I'll keep it short and simple, it's the result of both Ben holding it too long and The O-Line. The O-Line is actually looking a bit better this year in run blocking, if only the Dumbfuck Arians would pound the rock alot more. That's another topic. Both are at fault for the sacks problem in this topic.

Here is the one thing I don't understand. Back in the days a good QB who was about to get sacked could throw the ball over a covered receiver's head out of bounce thereby saving a sack and because a receiver was in the "area" no intentional grounding was called. What has happened to this skill?

They can still do that. They only call grounding if they throw it too short from inside the tackle box with no receiver around. Ben doesn't like to waste plays according to the 'experts'. I think he does hold on to it too long in some instances, but when your RB gets you 8 yards on a first and 10, sometimes you can keep your QB clean if you call a run on 2nd and 2, instead of calling lame ass, elaborate, dumb plays that Arians likes to call.

A hundred million dollar QB should be able to see a wide open tight end in the flat, right where the blitz came from
