Fire Tomlin already?!?! Wow. First of all, why even waste our time discussion that has no chance in hell of happening.... you know the Rooneys would not do that , black or white.... Secondly, I think not enough time has passed to make a thorough judgement of his performance... to see how he'll learn from his mistakes over next couple of years.... Just my opinion.

inherited team? not for the superbowl. maybe half. and we all know a single player can make or break a superbowl run.

Case in point on way to superbowl during season both willie parker and the rookie rashard mendenhall were out for several games. Mewelde Moore started as running back and did much better than willie or rashard. over 100 yds rushing every game and tons of 1st downs on 3rd down receptions.

Mewelde Moore was personally responsible for at least TWO WINS and just one loss would have put us out of the playoffs. Mike Tomlin brought in mewelde moore from his old team the vikings. he KNEW moore was cheap and a badass stud.

need I REMIND YOU tomlin ran the hardest camp ever his rookie year and everyone saw the team hit a wall going into the playoffs.

tomlin admitted he ran the team too tough and players like ward said as much in interview. all the 30 year olds were wore out at season end.

now we are seeing collapses in the 4th qtr....ONLY in the 4th.... make of that what you will but I would hazard to say if tomlin worked his team harder they would be failing earlier than that.... the guys on the team that were old when he was a rookie and are still here are older now by two years.

8. John Stallworth is now part owner of the team so use his talents to help Limas Sweed get to were his talents should be. Sweed has too much talent to allow it to be wasted. Find a way to get him were he needs to be. I love Holmes and Wallace, but we need another big redzone target and Ward will not play forever. So instead of just cutting your loses and wasting another much needed draft pick on yet another big WR that don’t make the cut, do what is needed to get Sweed on the field and making plays next year.

I don't know if Jesus could help Sweed catch a pass.

I have not seen a large enough sample size to intelligently make a decision on Sweed. I would hate to see us throw away a high receiver pick only to see him have success elsewhere. Should be interesting Thur night.

Cowher doesn't win the superbowl let alone make the playoffs in 2008 with that team. I don't think Tomlin was a "Rooney Rule" hire, as beyond his skin tone he fits the profile of every new coach they've hired. He was a young coordinator who showed a lot of promise but maybe wasn't viewed as ready by the rest of the NFL world for the top spot.

I do think Arians needs shitcanned, but you can't blame age on the lackadaisical attitude displayed in the playcalling and general play tempo on D late in games. Get a new O coordinator and I think everyone could live with Dick LeBeau and all his old fart rigidness in what he's doing.

Let's put it this way.

Sweed displayed in college (and in the pros, save for catching the ball, of course) all the skills that our current WR corps lacks.

He gets open...without scheme (he can beat the jam). He has size and can get positioning for jump balls.

Skills and attributes our current WR corps simply does not have.

We need to find out what we have in him, so we know whether he'll develop into the final piece that can make this WR corps truly great, or else we need to know if he'll never overcome the mental issues that have plagued him since he came into the league, so we can cut bait and look afresh at another WR, either through FA and/or the draft.

We won't find out any of this by having him rot on the bench.

We should have done this weeks ago. All the other WRs have fucked up just as much...or more...than he did, yet he rides the pine.

You telling me it wouldn't have been nice to see if he could have been an answer to our red zone struggles?

That on third down it wouldn't be nicer to have him rather than Heath "Suddenly, I Squat to Piss" Miller out there in the spread package?
